I can't find the forum-search gizmo, if you like that kind of irony, and I decided to stop looking by hand as I run into too much stuff that kinda demotivates. I appear to be very succeptible to other people's opinions...

Right.
I have some issues with distributing the items in my extensive inventory. Even though other people can't wear random armor like I do, I still have loads of trinkets and shiny things to hand out and right now I have to take all of it out of my storage box, into my pocket and take three buddies out with me so I can outfit them.
Then I go back home, or the nearest party-gathering-flag, get three new buddies and outfit them. It just seems a kind of roundabout way of doing things. I guess I should be thankfull my companions can't wear other armor than their own.
This way it would be pure hell for a stat-neurotic like myself.

So, now finally comes my question: Am I not just missing something that makes this easier?

Thanks!

No you're not. Its a design choice by bioware to dumb dow.. err "streamline" things like inventory management.

It's a needless hassle.  I can only assume it's a silly oversight.  Neither Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect had this problem before.

Your response makes so little sense that I have to get myself checked for a stroke.  In the event that I am reading you correctly, I might advise you to reread the OP.  It doesn't appear he's asking about anything that was "dumb dow.. err"streamline,"" but something that's actually more complex than DAO.

Yes... "Streamlining". A fate that seems to befall most RPG gamers. I can understand wanting to draw a crowd, but this is starting to smell like exchanging one for another crowd...

I do wanna give Bioware the benefit of the doubt though and I'll settle for "silly oversight".

Ehm... I assume the OP is me.
I actually do feel that the game was dumbed down, however not as much as Mass Effect 2. Nevertheless I find it an enjoyable game, it does what I want it to. I did try and explain bits to my girlfriend though and seeing the look on her face and hearing myself talk it seemed pretty clear that RPGs needed to be "dumbed" down a bit to accomodate a newer generation of gamers.

But this may all be thinking to far, I'm no developer or production company. In the end the question has been answered: No, I can't equip all my homies straight out of the box.
And this way (the way I described in the initial post) the procedure has indeed become more complex.

Ok a very long lag between last post here and my post....

I am not sure I understand what is going on. In Dragon Age II, I play a rogue. I cannot seem to give my other npc supplied characters (in group) any items from my inventory.  Why?

If I cannot transfer inventory what's the point in collecting it other than to sell? Seems pretty retarded if this is the case with Dragon Age II.....

You can equip your companions with items from your inventory (switch between people by clicking on portraits on PC, use shoulder buttons on PS3, probably similar for Xbox) but they do not have separate inventories of their own, like, say, a follower in Skyrim.
