Dragon Age without the "Origins" is just another RPG imo. I'm not sure why there were not two, three, or even four different Hawke Family Origins in Dragon Age 2, even if they would all be Human Origins it would have given that game the True Signature of the Franchise. Can you Imagine starting out, Not at the outskirts of Lothering running from Dark spawn but at Ostagar being betrayed by Logian ( I really enjoyed killing that fool) or perhaps your Mage character doesnt have to be an apostate, but instead a Circle mage who's journey starts after the debacle at Ostagar and instead of rejoining the circle you go back "home" to rescue your family. After all, the Circle would just assume you died along with everyone else no? or Maybe your an apostate living in the wilds only coming home AFTER you hear of what had happened at Ostagar. Point being I think not having Origins in the game took away from the mian thing that seperated the franchise from most RPGs. Please bring it back for DA 3

I support bringing back the origins for DA:3, and hopefully the Grey Wardens.

It WOULD have been great to have different alternative origins stories for Hawke, but I'm 99% sure that such a thing won't even be possible for DA3 - after all, the way DA2 ends leaves little doubt that DA3 will feature Hawke as continuing his adventures; now perhaps as the central figure in the fight to bring back order into Thedas.

That would mean that DA2 IS the origin story for the hero of DA3.

I'd be happy with just race selection.

I AM human, why would i want to play as one?

Because other races suck.

Please don't bring back Origins. I need Tevinter or something. If I want Origins, I'll play Origins.

Less than humans, though :P

The game wasn't called "Dragon Age 2: Origns" it was called "Dragon Age 2"

The entire game WAS Hawke's Origins, how did you miss that?

Just the race selection will do. I want each game to be unique.

DA:O The Blight
DA2 the Mage V Templar war
DA3 *Insert story here*

Not:

DA:O The Blight
DA2 The Arch Demon RETURNS!
DA3 Origins 'The Darkspawn strike back'

Yes, please bring back the origins. They help me replay the game. For example I could play a Sword and Shield guy six times and not get as tired of it because of the different origins.

Because being human means something different in a fantasy setting

I agree, bring back the origins stories for DAIII. Just having different origins gives the game a greater replay value. If not origin stories than please give us different races to choose from.

They were interesting. I do not require them. Race selection is more important even absent Origins.

Please just tell a good story. I found that a fully voiced PC added to the immersion, having three different races in origins made hardly any difference to my enjoyment, just gave me 7 different kinds of mute to play with.

I support multiple origins. Still got 3 I've not played all the way through Da: Origins yet.

No, no, no... you got it all wrong.
Not Dragon Age 3.
Dragon Age: Origin 2
You can say that the 2 on that other game cover was a misprint

I predict that Hawke does not come back in DA3. I think BioWare is trying to grow the Dragon Age lore and they are not as concerned with individuals within that Age. Individuals matter and it is important to know who some of them are, just like in any history, but what matters is the Dragon Age. There are many stories to tell in the Dragon Age and most of them, though connected in some way, will not and should not be centered around a few people. We may hear from Hawke again. But we will not be Hawke again.

I thought they were neat but not game-changing.

Ultimately the effort put into making 6 origins could have been spent making my 1st playthrough even more epic. I would rather have 1 amazing playthrough over a few good ones (not that Origins wasn't amazing...but things can always be better).

But that all depends on how you view the game; I never usually take replay value into account for games (unles multiplayer), its all about the first experience for me.

I think the reason they only made one playable race this time is because they're data showed that most people played and finished the human noble origin way more than any other. Logically, why would they want to spend resources on something "few" people play? In that aspect maybe 6 origins was too much. Maybe if they had one origin for each race: human from Lothering, dalish elf from Merril's clan, merchant dwarf who roamed Fereldan.

Like some guy from Bioware said in an interview, you can't make every one happy so you got to stick with your idea and push it trough. (Yeah I probably butchered it, but it was something like that)

You've made changes, from now on, build on DA2 to make DA3 better. Please continue that great story. Wanna know everything from (most) of those characters.

I think they won't do a story like origins because they did that already, so probably no grey wardens although i think they are going to play a big part.

DA2 was a different story to origins which is why it was just a human and no other origins, and i think different origins in DA2 wouldn't have worked. I don't think they would do that frame narrative personal story again because they already did that in DA2.
DA3 i reckon they will do something different story wise again so im not even going to guess whether they will have origins or not. They might though if its in a different part of thedas, but im going to expect something different.

Different races would be cool though! :P dalish ftw

The different origins in DA:O did not really have a huge impact on anything, plus they were pretty short as well.

A voiced main character that grows from game to game? Yes, please.
