Of course. They wouldn't want to sell the whole game for only 60 bucks, when they can cut out stuff and offer it as an incentive/sell later. It's the new ****ing age, Press A Button And Something Awesome Happens is gonna be the first DLC for only 10 bucks.

I hope so. A lot of people are expecting ME3 to be the end of the trilogy, and that would imply there is no more story to tell after ME3 launches. I still want DLC after ME3 launches, I want an expansion pack and episodic packs and micro-packs. Hark, bring forth the DLCs.

Mass Effect 3 will ship with only the most basic framework necessary for the game to run included on the disc. Everything else will be DLC.

I don't care if they release over 9000 DLC's as long as the vanilla game is playable.

I hope there's less "exclusive" DLC. I don't think it's fair to offer content to some and not others. I wish they'd package DLC together. (Armor, missions, weapons) and charge like $10 for it instead of having 50 different downloads. I'd also rather pay more for quality instead of quantity. But with the way E.A. runs things there will be more and more DLC and higher prices.

Well obviously there will be at least 16 "Return of *insert squadmate here*" DLCs.
:P

The rampant consumer within me hopes so.
The practical part of my mind knows it will be the case.
The cynic within me cringes at the thought.

Yes they will. Dragon Age 2 was one of the most pre-ordered games of all time, and I bet all the free downloadable items contributed to this. Mass Effect 3 will be the same, but I hope they don't go as over the top as they did with DA2.

Maybe.

Don't see DLC as extremely greedy means of getting money, though.
The retailers got a good percentage of the money till now, and they decided to make the income of a developing studio even less thanks to used games.

I hope so. Optional content where I can decide if I want it or not? Yes please.

As long as it isn't first-day DLC, really.

At least not story-related first-day DLC, I can understand if a set of armour or weapons didn't fit in the vanilla game.

Probably, but post release DLC should be tricky. The story should end within the game, and adding sidequests during the main plot could feel absurd, depending on when the Reapers arrive. Once they are in the Milky Way there are no other priorities to fighting them.

i hope not, granted you don't have to acquire all the dlc to play the game but first day dlc leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
