I killed Leliana in DA1, whats the point of importing my save when the continuity isn't secured?

And this is just one of the examples.

So Bioware, if you decide everything at your own anyway, don't create an import option, because then player won't have wrong hopes for the continuity<_<

You played DA:O incorrectly.

Sorry.

Possibilities:

- Leliana was merely knocked out.
- Leliana is an Immortal, you forgot to cut off the head.
- The Divine keeps Leliana clones on standby.
- You hallucinated the whole thing.
- Enchantment.

I'd guess Leliana has an important enough role in the future of the series that Bioware needed her to always be alive.

Many of the other discontinuities are bugs, however. Zevran, for example, should stay dead.

You left Leliana's dying body less than 20 feet away from the most powerful healing artifact in the known world?

Which you had just corrupted and made useless hence why she fought you in the first place.

I didn't even know you could kill her in DA O.

Leliana feigned her death; it's one of the rogue's abilities. Look it up.

After you left, she dragged herself back onto the alter and ate some of the left over, unchanged ash and was right as rain.

It's a good question, I just didn't see the need to retcon that. Leliana wasn't that compelling of a character to ruin continuity like that. Seems like she has some big role planned in the ongoing story as well.

As pointed out, there was the chance that still a little bit of it is left untainted; whatever was left over from the stuff you'd spilled earlier.

And hey, I hadn't remembered that 'Feign Death' is a canon rogue ability; that's even better!

A wizard did it.

Alternatively, blame the Orlesians. It's what theirn Loghain would do, and he'd be surprisingly right on spot in this case :|

Unlike Mass Effect I dont think Bioware were 100% certain Dragon Age would get more than one chapter, thats just how it felt to me anyway. I think they would have planned it better like having one character all the way through instead of the switch from Warden to Hawke, so I guess some things didnt really work out from a continuety aspect from DA1 to DA2.

I could of course be wrong so then how knows why some events in 1 are overlooked in 2!!!

Just a theory but I believe Leliana is a reincarnation of Andraste and the Maker saved her on this occasion because she still had work to be done.

Also have to point out that only ash in the urn was tainted, whatever is outside the urn must work, as the Hero took some to cure the Arl of Red Cliff.

And even if feign death wasn't a canon rogue ability, which it is, recall that NOBODY dies unless the whole party dies. Since the Hero doesn't die, Leliana obviously would have come back to life after the party left, just like every other battle you fought in DAO.

She's simultaneously protected by Party Armor, Character Shields, Plot Armor, Narrator balm, Feign Death ability, Divine favor, Andraste's left overs, and Rule of sexiness.

Not even your murder knife can cut through all that.

She doesn't need that much protection. It was never explicitly stated that the Hero killed her completely. She could very well have just been knocked out. After all, she was been following the Hero up to that point.

Who knows, as the next chapter in the series will involve the Hero of Feraldon (apparently), maybe we will see this play out and Leliana exact her revenge on the Hero...

Well I cut her head off scooped out her brains and wore the rotting skull as a codpiece so did she grow another head or what?

I did decapitate her though, not even meryl streeps that good an actress.

Seriously speaking, Leliana's death is an extremely minor part of DA:O, the only part where she can die *if* you corrupt the ashes *if* you take her along (in the camp she finds out but just leaves).
It's so minor, BioWare just didn't bother with it. The "knocked out" excuse is as good as any.

Chuckled. I'd be surprised if she went for it, honestly.

Because Bioware said so and they don't care if it violates the continuity of our imports. I still haven't heard a good justification for it. Everything people have come up with just sounds like reaching.
