I killed Leliana in DA1, whats the point of importing my save when the continuity isn't secured?
And this is just one of the examples.
So Bioware, if you decide everything at your own anyway, don't create an import option, because then player won't have wrong hopes for the continuity<_<
The Arishok asked: "Why should Leliana die?" . You could not give a satisfying answer. Because of that your reality ceased to exist.
Bioware is the Qun. They demand, you obey.

I kill plants, I'd never run a shop properly (I'd steal all the cash) and I hate giving sermons. So bah!

The only thing the Bioqun demanded of you was to buy the game. How you experience and rate it is up to you. Therefore you served the Bioqun!

I'm going to say two things and then I'm done with this topic.MadRex wrote...
For those of you who played Leliana's Song, she also survived a stabbing. She is just one tough rogue. She has that Joan of Arc type purpose. Maker favors her. I thought having her in DA2 was fantastic. After she was introduced I admit I got chills up the spine.
1) Only an idiot would leave a rogue of Leliana's caliber for dead without checking to make sure that she's dead, even if that means incinerating the corpse. The Warden wouldn't have made that mistake.
2) The Maker is not necessarily real, and only in the minds of people who love Leliana does it make sense that she's somehow "favored." The Maker didn't seem to care very much for the Grand Cleric or King Cailan...
Bioware retconned the story. Just like with Anders. People really need to stop justifying that because they are personally invested in the character.
Anyway... this is the only thing I feel like responding to. This topic is annoying and I don't think I should read anything else here...

Yeah, and if it was important enough for the story I could live with a change in continuity. But this was not important. They could have quite easily slapped in a different character in her place if she was dead. In fact that would have been a good opportunity to show what a difference your actions in origins make.cynicalsaint1 wrote...
Because BioWare can't account for every single possible set of story branches and still end up with a coherent story.

Does that satisfy the great Arishok?:innocent:

I dunno, based on her appearances in DAII, I'd say it's pretty important now...

That's what I'm afraid of. They could have quite easily had a completely new character if she does have an important role. Heck even Cassandra (who I was half expecting) at that point could have been written in.Upsettingshorts wrote...

At the same time, Leliana was a very popular character. The devs clearly think that her character warrants some deeper exploration. I'm fine with this. I only wish that you weren't able to kill her at the Sacred Ashes. To the people who did, well... tough, I guess. Most of the choices we made actually aren't being ignored. This is one that is.
Is one character who "should" be dead really that big a deal?

I'd guess Leliana has an important enough role in the future of the series that Bioware needed her to always be alive.
Many of the other discontinuities are bugs, however. Zevran, for example, should stay dead.
I'm not sure (aside from being a Zevran fan). If you read Zevran's DA2 codex, what he's doing can have far reaching implications in Thedas -- much further reaching that I actually thought they'd give him. An entire nation may be destroyed because of what he's doing.
I really don't mind so much who they leave alive and dead. My guess is it will blend well into future stories.

She wasn't really dead, that's why you couldn't loot her corpse. That's going to make for an uncomfortable reunion.
If she wants revenge, let her come, that'll be her second death^_^

At least not in my Game.
Her death was treated correct.
Maybe its an early bug that has been fixed already.

It feels like they're setting Zevran up to become the new leader of the Crows, which would make him a major world player in a sequel.
