This quest seems to be bugged--I've been all over the Wounded Coast but outside of some bad guys, there's no quest there!  Any comments would be very appreciated.

It's broken. Report it to the technical Issues forum under the proper platform. I reported mine.

Broken. Walked all around the Wounded Coast and found the Bandit Leader near the entrace to the right. But... he just stands there, nothing triggers.

The Quest is broken for all platforms, until the bug is fixed.

Do we know if it's broken or was it cut? Because it's not even mentioned in the OSG, which leads me to believe it wasn't supposed to be in the game.

I lean towards "Broken, but not finished" the quest text is there, it triggers buttt nothing seems to happen.

This is the quest that the Sibling/LI/Best friend gets kidnapped? It's in there, and not always broken, or maybe I got lucky (knock on wood)

I entered the Wounded Coast at that time going after another quest and just happened to stumble across the untriggerable bandit leader while exploring (I had this quest active too). My feeling was that something with the trigger to the other quest (I forget which one it was specifically) caused the trigger to the rescue quest not to fire, and basically broke it.

A better question would be is *anyone* has completed this quest. I'm not sure if anyone has reported it working at all for them.

No theres a side quest in the same act which you get from a letter to rescue the daughter of a noblemen or somthing along those lines.

There are plenty of threads on the subject already. Popular opinion (which found it origin in some guy who knew some employee of BW) is that the quest was too 'kinky' or something so they cut it. If all elements are still in there however it might be possible to mod it so the quest will work.

Basically some random forum member claimed knowledge from an unnamed source that supposedly was in the know and said they pulled the quest because the content was too risqué - and naturally almost everyone believed it and started propagating it as if it was the truth. I called BS on it, but it's a lot easier to just believe everything you read apparently.

Considering what's in game, it's hard to believe something could be too "risque"

Do they even test games before they release them anymore? It seems like if they have a team of people playing the game before its release at least one of them would notice that it's unfinished. How long did this game take to make? Would another month or so of testing really be such a big deal when the result would be a game that ACTUALLY works properly? Everyone who paid to play this game noticed a problem with this quest right away, so why didn't the people BEING PAID to play the game notice it?

Because it's a minor quest and something that doesn't prevent the game from being completed.

Have you read the letter that triggers the quest. That was fairly risque, so it's not so hard to imagine the quest would have been.

@PureBredCorn

But it is annoying to leave the quest in the log as many of us are spending a LOT of time running around that map trying to find the quest. I had not found all my champ armor or crafting stuff either and did not know if that quest was needed. I only knew wasn't going to be a major gamebreaker..............when I got to the end,  and after I had run round the wounded coast 20 times.

@purebredcorn actually it does prevent the game from being completed, a completed game is one where you've found and done all quests available. What you're saying is "it doesn't prevent the game from being finished" and I have to give +1 to Joetheamazing here because I payed for the game and yet I find a quest I can't complete because there's a bug ? BS, but on the other hand I have the collector's guide and the quest is not there either so maybe it was never meant to be in the game at all.
