What were they talking about? Is there an other blight? Is there a new Darkspawn threat? My GOD! The Genlocks and Shrieks are gone!
No, they just don't get mixed with politics.

Does it matter? Put it like this: if I was in Paris and the city was attacked, then I would ally myself with the Parisians, despite not actually being French myself.
So you'd surrender?

Perhaps the Wardens know of the location of an Old God and are trying to beat the Darkspawn to it. Could be near the Ancient Thaig that we went through with Hawke. A little extreme, but an idea nonetheless.
If the Wardens are anything like competent, they should always be seaching these 'old gods' out. I don't see why Wardens aren't always on the offensive. As for the Warden in Kirkwall: if what he was doing was important then what was he even doing in Kirkwall? He doesn't think the qunari invasion is a more pressing and immediate concern?

Eh, the Arishok seems perfectly happy with female Hawke running around cracking skulls and burning things rather than preaching sermons or farming broccoli and such.

Clearly, for the arishok to duel a five foot girl in a dress is a sign of honor and respect
Ot: Righteous Grey Wardening I presume.
That opinion is based solely on an extremely limited perspective. It's a fair supposition that some have made that those particular Wardens were delevering Avernus's research to Weisshaupt. However, we don't know that for certain. In fact, we know absolutely nothing about their mission. You have only an opinion that their mission was not more important than Kirkwall, but you have nothing to base that on without knowing details of the mission. Since we also don't know the full details of Avernus's research, even that "simple" courier assignment may have been far more important in the long run to the Warden Order than an internal political situation in Kirkwall.Wereparrot wrote...
I don't buy it. Nothing is more important at that particular moment than saving the city.
The other poster wasn't "clutching at straws" at all. The suggestion that the Warden was possibly in Kirkwall to acquire resources is, in fact, quite a rational one. As for your "disgust," well, I'm sure that Warden just feels oh-so-sorry for not intervening in an internal political struggle and instead carrying on his rightful duties.Wereparrot wrote...
You're clutching at staws in your first paragragh [...]. The Warden was in Kirkwall and I do not care why;
I only know that my Hawke, and I, am disgusted by his stance.

One would assume the girl in a dress is a mage, alls fair when the other side can cast fireballs.
Otherwise, my gal in plate can handle a big smelly Qunari thank you! All muscle and no grace.

Even if both remaining Old Gods die, the Wardens will not immediately disband. The Darkspawn also attack the surface in "ragtag bands", raiding for women of all races to form Broodmothers.

Someone said that The Clalling says that the Grey Warden's know where the Old Gods are. Is that really true?
If so, how?
Apparently it's in the Grey Warden record and the First Warden knows their exact location. How they got that information though was not explained... [conspiracy] Imho, I've always suspected that Flemeth had a hand in the formation of the Warden Order. [/conspiracy]

Not really. The Grey Wardens are not needed other than to kill Achdemons. Anyone can fight darkspawn and broodmothers.
They might not be as necessary to the elimination of "garden variety," to say, Darkspawn, but no one knows more about the 'spawn than the Wardens. No one else is as well prepared as the Wardens are.Wereparrot wrote...

Sounds exactly like something a Qunari would say, given they're immune to fire on nightmare, if I recall correctly

Oh well, there's always frost spells.

I think so - not that I'd know, I spent both mage-playthroughs doing the same thing I did for eight Arena seasons in WoW - hanging back, crowd controlling a little, healing a little, while someone else does the majority of the healing, and an off-warrior does all the work
