And of course it's Arcturus being a loyal loving man who doens't need the fear of punishment to remain dedicated to one person (bs).

Besides, Rhiannon doesn't go for men who already have a wife (A woman Rhia admires) and a mistress. (Another woman Rhia appreciates a great deal)

Yes, but there is a certain danger involved in the scenario that might be stimulating.

But of course, Rhiannon and Arcturus are almost siblings if not clones...

This^^^    what Fenris said about many mages in a time of desperation or in a time of real need resorting to blood magic rang true in the end.  Both the ideology of the templars and mages was flawed,  The issue was just bigger than any one person. too big to be resolved by one person.  assassinating Meredith and killing Anders before the Grand cleric issue "may" have averted the war.  I could honestly see both sides of the issue. and neither side was exactly right.  Meredith's actions were evil without question, but then again what Anders did was evil as well.
