I swear, this girl is either flighty or glitchy or both I kept getting rivalry points where I obviously shouldn't have. Like on her companion quest for the mirror, I comforted her said she wasn't a monster and got 10 rivalry points. On night terrors she wanted to come with me so I let her and got 10 rivalry points....
Anyways I go into the end of Act II and the qunari are gone and what not. She tells me she's running into low town so I follow her. Soon as I get their she's staring at the mirror going, I can't believe she's gone and I get the option of telling her what happened to the keeper wasn't her fault.
Only thing is.... I have no idea what happened to the keeper, how she died, or wth went on....
Someone clue me in on the big plot that I completely missed?
I didn't leave any available quests open, that I saw in my journal or on the map before I went to go speak to the Arishtok so I'm not sure what I missed.
Merril - glitch jumped an entire story line(spoilers)

the thing with the Mirror at the beginning of Act3 is a known Bug/Glitch, it shouldn't keep you from completing her personal quests, however.
What Dialogue choice was that "not a monster"? And what quest?
On Night Terros, the Rivalry Points are for when you say that you'd never deal with demons *hint**hint*

The quest where you fight that long legged spider thing. Pol(paul?) called her a monster, He dies and she weeps because he was more afraid of her than the monster. I choice the nice comforting option and got nailed for rivalry points for cheering her up.
And no, I got 10 rivalry points for bringing her along and another 5 later on when I told the demon no.
I had not done anything, literally absolutely nothing just stepped into the fade and got nailed with 10 rivalry points. I hadn't even gotten to the sloth demon yet.

Merrill is actually a *spoilers* monster. She was planning on telling you the next day, but saying that she isn't one upsets her. Yaknow, elf logic. As a monster, she grew up with demons. When you said "no" to the demon, this dishonored her childhood. It's common knowledge that monsters don't go to the fade, so you basically made her a nervous wreck in the mysterious fade.

huh, that's odd. With Pol i can't really explain it. I remember that i once received Rivalry Points because Anders was in the Party and made some "you're a blood mage, of course it's your fault"-comment. When he wasn't there i always received Friendship-Points.
hm, might have something to do with the Keeper. What Dialogue-Options did you choose before going into the fade?

That could probably be why with pol, I had Fenris in my party. As far as the keeper options and night terrors, I actually reloaded several times to try and figure out how to get friendship points in that particular mission with her. No matter what I did I always got negative points for taking her into the fade with me.
I ended up swapping her out of my party before I talked to the mage's mother and just selecting not to take her with me when the chance came.(I got 10 rivalry points if I brought her with my party to speak to the mother regardless if I took her with me or not, who I took with me, or what I said to the keeper).
Although all that playing around made me go with Anders, Fenris, and Aveline since you got the most friendship points out of that combo and telling the demon to go shove it, also saving the mage.
