I don't really know why, no other scenery or foliage does that. I think that tree hates me, and is possessed.
That's right that tree is an abomination.

I'd like that scene if the alienage tree didn't make my PC chug like a commodore 64.

You should get that fancy 486DX that's out now--it's far out, man.

I agree, it's one of my favorite scenes in the game, and the music is fantastic. Unfortunately I don't know if the track exists in obtainable form.
As for the lag, recording this bugged me. Turns out I'm fairly sure it's not the tree, it's that blue torch. My game lagged out every time something like that was around, and for some reason had a real problem with close up facial shots. I switched back to DirectX 9 and the problem seems to have mostly gone away. It's some problem with the DX11 setting for me, I don't know why.

- Did't get why everyone bowed to her. Noone bowed to my dalish in DA:O, and why poor alienage should bow to her in the first place? From what I remember, alienage elves think of dalish as a faraway random alien force, more of a fairytale. If that is so, should't all city elves run to her crying to take them away with her instead?
- It felt like a ripoff from a movie of cartoon but I did't remember which one..
Still, there was actual emotion into this scene, and it felt good.

This. And she's just radiating...something, in this scene. The way she carries herself is significantly different to the way the other elves move. They've seen at least two Dalish by this point, Arianni and Merrill. But they've probably never ever seen a Keeper. If the Dalish are far off stories, then Dalish Keepers are mythological.

I would not bow to a mythological creature. If i'd be city elf, I would run pack my stuff and follow her. Because in this city, my people are selled in slavery and murdered by some crazy noble lunatic. If the Dalish are far off stories, then Dalish Keepers are mythological.

I think it is because when the Keeper comes to the Alienage - she walks like a freaking Queen. She is not bowed down, nor broken, she is a proud Dalish. She looked so regal in that scene I wanted to bow before her.

No wonder she ended up hosting a Pride demon. You really have to applaud Bioware's subtle foreshadowing.

So in their minds Keeper = Ultra Elder with mystical air.

So if Lanaya walked into the Denerim Alienage Shianni and friends would be doing the same thing?
Hard to say, but from what we have seen of the kirkwall city elves and the alienage, and even from Merrill who lives there for a time, people tend to keep to themselves. I don't doubt there is still some racism about, but we don't see huge examples of it like we did in Denerims alienage. With that said, I think the Kirkwall city elves, while still slightly depressing, are much better off than the Denerim city elves.
I base this off of just what is seen in the game.

The racism is there. Since we don't play as elves this time we just don't experience it first hand.
Several elves are ready to drop everything and rebel the moment the Arishok goes kill-crazy so conditions there can't be great.
