Not a:
Keeper, "we don't need her any more, here you take her"
I actually liked Kotojan and wished he could have become a party member. There was something about how he wasn't easily thrown at me that made him more appealing as a companion, than a Fenris or a Merrill. There was a kind of heart in his quest.
And I ended caring for him when I first saw him. When he died I was very sad.

R.I.P Kotojan.. Wish he could have survived, only knew him 5 minutes and already liked him better then all my companions....sept maybe Varric
Isabella "He justs wants to fetch a stick and someone to scratch his belly" lol, found that humorous since before he could talk I actually was thinking along those lines as well, He seemed like a dog in a way. lol

I don't think it is that simple. The Arravard (sp) looked at Kojatan to see what he wants, and turned off the Control Rod to allow him his "dying wish." In which he spoke to you.The Angry One wrote...
I think the harness is to humiliate them and put them in their place as it is for anything else, they are basically regarded as animals and a curse on their brethren.
(that is in 1 version of the outcome, if you allowed Kojotan to chose his own fate).
It seems that the control mechanism (probably the harness) turns off their higher level functions because he is quite eloquent and isn't the dazed reflex driven animalistic Kojotan with the Harness on.
I think it is more to do with prevent corruption (which I think is just their term for Possession) as opposed to deliberatly demeaning. Because they then tried to kill Hawke for being spoken to - and thus dangerous because he may be contaminated.
Odd part is that they all heard the words as well, so I assume they would commit ritual suicide as soon as Hawke is dead.

Ketojan was awesome and his death was an incredible waste of something that could've been a very good story.
I wouldn't say that, Katojan's death was very much on my mind as I witnessed Mother Patrice's final fate. Rarely has a VG death brought me so much emotional satisfaction.

In the end his death wasn't due to Patrice. Both the Qunari and Ketojan knew you were framed and he died anyway. He wasn't the main motivation for showing how evil Patrice is, the Viscounts son and the bound up Qunari that got killed seemed more like a driving force.
There was a few side characters that were more interesting than main characters in DA2 which was sad. Ketojan, Cullen, Thrask, Emile and Lilley being some of them.

I also like Sten who stole cookies from a child.
When entering the Circle Tower for the first time:
Warden: "Can't we work something out?"
Carroll: "Hmm... I don't know. Y'know, I am feeling a little peckish, though.
Warden: "There must be food at the tower lets go."
Sten: "Parshaara! Here! Munch on these if you like."
Carroll: "Ooh, cookies!"
Sten: "I am content to part with them if it saves us from this fool."
Warden: "Where'd you get those?"
Sten: "There was a child--a fat, slovenly thing--in the last village we passed. I relieved him of these confections. He did not need anymore."
Warden: "You stole cookies from a child?"
Sten: "For his own good."

He seemed a little more formal than Sten. Katojan could have probably been the coolest aspect.
He may have been able to give Quanari views of the oppression of elven and human mages. Maybe why he doesn't dislike it. Or maybe why its different.
He could have also been kind of like your aid to "diplomat" with the Arishok.
So many options.
