Troll thread is troll thread, just another excuse to be negative.
Why can't the people who love Origins but hate DA2 just go back to the Origins forums?
Its rather funny when trolls call other people trolls. So if people buy something and they are not satisfied with the quality of the product they are supposed to just shut up?
Lets make a real word example. You go out for dinner. The food tastes terrible and is even mouldy so you go to the cook. The first thing he responds then is "stop whining and leave if you dont like it".
Except your analogy is flawed. Because nobody would stand for "moldy food."
Using the DAO to DA2 analogy, it would be...
You go to a very good restaurant. Very typical restaurant, it offers everything everyone else does. You love it.
You hear about a new restaurant opening up, owned by the same people who run the one you really love. In the local paper, its reported this restaurant caters to a specific taste, and will likely have a smaller menu. You're still excited. You go to the restaurant. The food ends up not appealing to you, the menu is just not your type. Yet other people enjoy it. Others hate it. Why? Because it's a smaller restaurant, with a smaller more specific menu.
Do you have the right to be angry that this new restaurant caters to a different group of folk? Plenty of folks who loved the first restaurant love the second. Just as there are folks who love the first but hate the second. Are you going to protest the second restaurant just because it might be seafood only compared to the big place which has everything else?
I can play this game too, sir.
If you don't like the game, don't play it, simple as that. It's understandable to be annoyed with the bugs, and the environments (NOBODY likes that part), but just because it's not the game you want it to be, does not mean Bioware owes you anything.
This. I simply don't understand such RADICAL hatred, going as far as "I talked many of my friends into not buying the game" and posting inaccurate sales and prices. Only Bioware knows the actual numbers. And until THEY release them, threads like this one are meaningless to me. Carry on then!

Thoughts? Do you think poor sales might affect the possibilty of DA3?
Not a chance in hell; DA3 is years and plenty of hype away, plus Bioware will listen to the forums for what players are looking for.....
I just blew coffee out of my nose, if Bioware had listened to the fans initially DA2 would be a different entity all together. If they listened to the fans especially concerning the limited character customization that fans screamed about with Mass Effect 2 (2 outfits for your squaddies, DLC armor that has no way to remove helmets), DA2 would be a different entity. No i do not see it happening, Bioware is going to make the game they want or the one EA tells them to. You as the customer will get pretty platitudes on the forums, which i supposed is better than none, but you will not have any impact on the development, this track record is plain to see with the "twos" (ME2 and DA2). If you believe anything different you are seriously delusional, Bioware was warned by alot of folks on these boards about keeping thier Mass Effect out of our DAO, but they just could not help themselves. Mass Effect and DAO should be complete different entities appealing to different audiences, who are looking for different experiences, instead we get the generic "twos". Nice jobs guys lowering the bar for gamers everywhere.

My initial thoughts are this was to be expected when so much emphasis was put on pre-ordering. Everyone that was willing to pay full price probably preordered, while those who didn't are most likely those who wanted to wait for it to go on sale. Because of the signature edition, I was very much expecting to see DA2 as a "one week wonder" in the charts.
Pretty much this.
Dragon Age 2 had a very aggresive pre-order campaign so a sharp drop in sales after 1 or 2 weeks isn't a surprise.

i bet we'll see da3 in mid to late 2012
That's what my predicition has been. I'm thinking we'll hear about it 6 months from now and it'll be out September-November 2012. And I have a feeling that it may be political in nature considering it will be an election year in (at least) the US. IIRC election-year games tend to have a few political statements in them.
after reading the ign article bout clues to the next game. i think your right. which mean probably hawke again

It's updated hourly, so I will list here what it said the moment I looked (4:46 PM CET, mar 23th):
1. Dragon Age 2
2. Sims Medieval
3. Dragon Age 2 (downloadable)
4. Crysis 2
5. Total War: Shogun 2
6. Total War: Shogun (downloadable)
So, not so bad at all... for a game that could have been so much better.

Sure it is, example would be if they spent as much as Activision did on Black Ops which was about $200m after all was said and done. 3m copies for a multi-plat AAA title really isn't all that much, Crysis with it's massive requirments and PC exclusivity sold 3m copies. On the flip side if they only needed to sell say a million to break even then they did great. Like I said, depends on what they were shooting for.

If they sold sold 3.5 million copies of Black Ops at $60, they would have made $210m... So even if that's ALL they sold of the game with the most money and marketing behind it in history, they would have made a profit before they even sold one T-shirt, accessory, or one piece of DLC.TheMadCat wrote...

Now let's come back to reality. We all know ME2 didn't cost remotely close to $200m to make... They were swimming in cash from that game. And they will be able to fill a 2nd pool with the money they make from DA2.

If publishers take $60 per copy, what do retailers make? Do they sell publishers prodcuts for free? Are places like Gamestop a chairty, non-profit organization?
(I do know the answer, just busting your balls a little).

However the biggest risk for Bioware will be with ToR, nobody knows the exact figures but we know they have a huge amount of money tied up in it.
