Trust me, for those that it effects, the shield glitch is not a "Meh." There is no point in continuing the game whatsoever, because as a shield warrior, Hawke becomes a walking tank by the third shield you pick up, and nearly invicible shortly after. For someone who wants a challenge, it's game killing. It has nothing to do with *trying* to exploit it, there's just little that can be done to avoid the problem at all.

Like with the spell 'haste', magic resistance could also be the reason why 'rally' only benefits my companions at a reduced capacity. In addition, I noticed that the range of healing aura is much shorter than 8m when upgraded. It's more like 1 to 2 metres at most.

The center of the Gravitic Ring spell glitches bosses causing them to freeze for the duration of the battle unless a stun effect cancels it out. This happens on EVERY boss, and likely enemies too (except they probably die too quickly to notice).

This is in addition to Armistice and Goad not working at all.

The bug with makers sigh and passive abilities only seems to happen if you are glitching on purpose and not using known workarounds

Oh and the part about removing points gained from tomes doesn't seem to be true unless you deliberately glitch it by saving mid respec. You need to fact check these bugs.

Hey Farbel, the shield bug makes up for the Sebastion/Isabella bug so it's an 'enchantment'. Is the Makers Sigh glitch for real? If so I'm screwed as I've used it least 3 or 4 times now and I have the Sebastion/Isabella bug as well.

I didn't realize the Maker's Sighs were erasing passive bonuses. That makes these bugs even worse. I've had to stop doing my first playthrough because of the isabella friendship bug. I'd noticed some small things before, getting two spec points at level 14, but didn't think much of it until Hawke started swinging slower and slower. This is really frustrating. I feel dumb having pre-ordered this game.

Can anyone confirm if the Blood Magic costs are truly messed up for Hawke? I'm doing a Blood Mage playthrough now, but I'm still a way away from getting my specialization for it. I was told that the costs of spells seem wildly random when using blood magic. Some seem to consume very little health, while others take huge chunks and they shouldn't. Has anyone noticed this issue?

Edit: Like Gravitic Ring, Decoy seemed to completely glitch the AI for the only boss I used it against. Against the Arishok at the end of Act 2 in my Rogue playthrough, I used Decoy to escape so I could run around and backstab him, and for the rest of the fight, he stood in one place and swung at the empty air where my Decoy had been. I am wondering if this happens for other bosses as well.

And I agree with the Shield glitch not being a mere "meh," for the simple reason that I am avoiding a playthrough as an S&B warrior altogether until it's fixed. I don't want the game to be without challenge, and would like to be able to upgrade to better shields when they are found without exploiting this glitch.

When you say the passive problem with the respec potion only occurs when you intentionally ' glitch', what do you mean?

Persistent Gore is not working properly. Gore wears off after battle unless in a cutscene where the gore stays on until cutscene ends. At first I thought this was a problem with the Exiled Prince DLC but it's not. It's a problem with the whole game.

I came to these forums because of the Isabela/Sebastian buff problems, but I didn't realize there were so many other issues. I've played for 45 hours and used maker's sigh a good 4-5 times. No wonder I felt like it had no effect.

This is insanity. The fact that Bioware didn't notice these bugs is absolutely baffling. Did they not play through the game themselves?

The game was rushed. They weren't given enough time for a proper Testing cycle to get all the major issues.

Genuinely baffled by all the stat-related glitches. Isabella, Sebastian, Maker's sigh, infinite armor rating. All of these are simple issues of addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

Someone screwed up the way these stat ratings and bonuses are calculated on a fundamental level, and I'm blown away that nobody caught it.

Not to mention the serious error with Fenris's quest line. His companion quest did not start for me on Act 2 and whenever you'd try talk to him he'd just say a generic line. I was unaware of any quest for him until it was too late, so unless you're aware of the fact that bringing him on a quest outside Kirkwall boundaries will trigger the quest, then you miss out. Once on Act 3 his quests are uncompletable and you miss the opportunity to keep him as a companion (and friend) forcing him to leave you. Not cool. Any bug that unavoidably forces a character you like to leave your party - outwith your control - is pretty damn major.

I'm going to add that they sold us 1st day DLC that wasn't fully functional. Instead of putting content that was finished before the games release, they decided to make us pay extra for it, and it didn't even work right. Its full of bugs and glitches.

This isn't a bug. This is stated right in the game guide that you have to take Fenris with you to activate this quest. Sorry but your complaining about this won't have it changed. It's not something that can be changed with a patch. If you don't have the game guide then well you missed out.

Sorry but this is a pretty redundant comment.  What I experienced IS a bug.  As with Every other character, you are supposed to be informed of a quest available with that character i.e. "Speak with Merill, about something", you go speak to her, it starts option for quest, then you should take them with you outside Kirkwall to initiate the quest proper.  I had companion quest options for all others bar Fenris and the guide - which I have - states there should have been one to go speak with him too.  I never got this.  Some characters I used much less than Fenris I got the "go speak to" quest for.

On top of that, I understand there is a glitch with his quest, in that, if you fail to bring him, whilst still initiating the quest outside Kirkwall, it treats it as though he is there and can be played unusually (i.e. an invisible Fenris talking).

So, I beg to differ.

Storywise, it makes sense that you shoudn't be aware of it, since it's an ambush.

What exactly would Fenris say? Let's take a stroll so we can get ambushed?

Edit: Spelling.

Just as Selphie said, it's an ambush. You can't know in game prior to it that the ambush is to happen. That's why it's an ambush. They take you by surprise.

Edit: Just after checking the guide, the 'Speak to Fenris' quest should show up in your log book at the beginning of Act 2. Go to his mansion and talk to him. You do that end of quest. There is no 'new' quest that pops up after that for him. As stated before the 'Bitter Pill' quest only takes place during the ambush with him in your party. It's an ambush. If you are missing the 'Speak to Fenris' side quest then that is a bug. But the 'Bitter Pill' quest in and of itself is an ambush quest and you have to have Fenris in the party for it to activate. There is no precursor to the quest itself because it's not meant to have one.

You're right. I didn't realise this game was such a mess...
I have the Isabela's friendship bug that made me read this forum and now I understand I also have the shield/armor bug. Aveline has 1200 armor! It seemed strange to me, now I know why. I tried changing shield several times and I got 1600 armor, ridiculous!
Now I stopped playing waiting for the patch and I understand why it takes so long, they are doing now the optimization work that should have been done before, but thanks to us testing the game ...
My small contribution to this thread:
In the mission "Pirates of the cliffs", if you repeat several times the dialogue with the commander of the guard you will always get friendship +xx with Aveline, easily coming to 100, ridiculous again but not serious.

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian
