IGN: Clues About The Next Dragon Age

I understand Orlais is the religious center of the chantry.. the divine in the grand cathedral there.
I would imagine that army of seekers you saw heading out of kirkwall were there as part of an invasion force.
Alistar also said they had their sights on reclaiming their old provinces, what better excuse to invade and settle than in the guise of defending the faith... another exhalted march ((an andrastian crusade)) against those that blew up the kirkwall chantry.
As for morrigan, she went through the mirror in my play through, I doubt she's still in orlais and I'm fairly certian that witch hunt won't be retconed ((except if she died))...as I'm sure it was released to feed in with the overall story.
And I agree the epilogues were written before anyone thought there would be a sequel..

that was based on an assumption about the plot, while this is based mainly on the sandal business. I suppose it's an assumption that it happens directly after the events, but still. Ground seems a little firmer here.Brockololly wrote...
It would seem DA3 could be set in Orlais, but I think that was a popular thought after DAO as well.

Unless the Divine has a Templar-O-Matic in her garters I doubt there'll be an Exalted March on anything with the mage and templar uprisings and all.
She's got a ressurection machine for Leliana in them, a Templar-O-Matic doesn't seem like too big of a stretch.

Hey IGN wrote an interesting short article about "clues" they think point to the setting of the next Dragon Age. Take a gander.

Orlais? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The accents... will drive me insane.
Plus there is a far more interesting option just north of the free marches (Tevinter)

Same here. I don't have anything against French people but their accents might just be the worst to have ever graced my ears.

Maybe because accents are fake

But after that, I hope the final Dragon age game will be set in the Anderfels, with a grand final battle at Weisshaupt Fortress

I'll be glad if it's Orlais and not Anderfels. Better the french accent than the german one.

And who are to say that Sandal and Bodahn didn't get sidetracked on their way to Orlais?
Well Orlais is pretty close to Kirkwall, so unless they got "kidnapped" they can only be:
- Still in the Free Marches.
- Moved up toward Nevarra.
- Got side tracked towards the Anderfels.
- Got captured and sold as slaves in Tevinter.
- Moved to Orlais.
- Took the wrong boat and found themselves in Rivain.

Being trapped in a city full of characters with awful fake French accents is going to fail horribly.

becoming emperor/empress
seeing loghain as a warden (that'll be a riot XD)
having sandal in the orlais court as one of their best enchanters
meeting leliana again
becoming a chevalier (if becoming the emperor is too much, or add both options
and.....Horses, and jousting.
arenas, tournaments, you name it.
seeing aveline and donnic on their honeymoon/trip to orlais would be funny/heartwarming too.
being able to defect to ferelden if you have the chance or in the best case scenario, being able to parley a truce with ferelden if there's the chance to become the ruler of orlais.
more varied environments and to make them more engaging according to whatever party members you have, implement a "cross class" exploration system, boulder or obstacles that only warriors can destroy, magic barriers that only mages can dispel and massive locked doors/traps for the rogues to lockpick/disarm.
more companion outfits, 4 or 5 different armors per npc party member.(to bypass most of the clipping issues, like hawke they could have their own custom "casual" outfit in their home bases where most of their dialog/cutscenes would occur)
while i love the new animations in companion cutscenes, most of the dialog animations were also recycled from origins and it only makes it seem dated. updating that would also be on my list on things to improve.
and one thing i'd like to see out of DA3 would be....the junk items (you know the ones, the broken opal pieces, broken shields and the like), not the junk category in the inventory, that i want to stay.
thing is, the junk category is useful for putting the older items we have and are no longer useful. having the junk pieces littered around the environment for looting only clutters up the space in the inventory or slow down the pace of the game by having the player purposely not picking up the trash, or worse picking it up and selling them only to do this every time the inventory gets full of trash making the player "grind trash for cash".

^^This^^ is why I thought DA:2 or one of the BIG DLCs was going to be in Orlais but we got Awakining and Kirkwall.

Well, I remember Gaider bringing it up a while back on the topic of the epilogues that something like Morrigan going over the frostbacks or insinuating herself in the Orlesian Court could still be things yet to happen.
It would seem DA3 could be set in Orlais, but I think that was a popular thought after DAO as well. And like Laidlaw has mentioned in past interviews when bringing up people's thoughts on where DA2 would go plot wise, it would seem they almost take pride in going for what people don't expect, whether thats a good thing or not.
So expect DA3 to be set entirely inside Flemeth's Hut over the span of 100 years as you master your Kinect motion controls to become the most important grand master of marsh cuisine the Korcari Wilds have ever seen, in Dragon Age 3D: Cooking Mama Edition!
For the final mission you must gather the ingredients for Flemeth's Special Gumbo. Which may or may not include Darkspawn hearts.

If it's set after DA2 there's no chance of Aveline and Donnic being on honeymoon. That had already happened in Act 3. I've got to admit that I'd love to see Sandal again and discover what 'not Enchantment' really meant, although if Bodahn was no longer around I'd miss him.
A game primarily made up of people with Inspector Clouseau's accent would do my head in, though. Especially if most of the women are pouting bundles of fluff like the noblewoman in the Loose Ends quest.
