My bets:
*The *last* DA in this extended plotline will probably be in Tevinter, where the party will actually FIND the "door to heaven" that started this whole mess. (If I'm not reading the Codex properly, clue me in.) I think that precisely BECAUSE we want to go there, and find out how all this mess really started.
Whether we like it or not, I think BioWare hasn't really lied to us yet - they said during origins that they wanted the WORLD to be the main character of the story. They're taking a risk - they've already alienated a lot of RPG players who are used to being the spiky-haired kid who single-handedly kills Satan with a magic sword. So I'd bet against ANY character you build being the main in two different numbered DAs.
*Whenever BioWare decides to end the story, EVERY SINGLE previous game save will probably allow previously played characters to make a final appearance as soldiers against Big Bad. (I'd like to see DA5 let you import a premade Superteam of your previous four main characters...but what happens if you played four mages?)
*Loghain (sp?) is probably dead to the series, even if we go to Orlais. A subordinate character that had 3/4 chance of dying, and 1/4 chance of being exiled, will have 100% chance of dying off-screen if he needs to. (Them Deep Roads Is Dangerous...)
*Final Big Bad will probably be either a demiurge - a god-like being that stops the Maker from interfering with the evil in the world - or it will be the "Maker" itself. One way or the other, there'll be no way of knowing whether the Maker ever was Real God. Personally, I think the Maker is Zeus to the Titans that the corruption turned into Archdemons and darkspawn.

A multi country trip sounds like an awesome idea, i love it.
possibly go see Tevinter Imperium, the Qunari controlled lands or perhaps Rivalin (where the humans who live there still follow the Qun), see Orlais and even Antiva.
That would be very cool.
I fully support this idea.

Orlais was a clincher when Bodahn said he and Sandal would be leaving my employment soon. Sniff...I was so sad.

Back since DAO, the Arl of Foreshadow predicted Orlais,
"Books to pursue for future endeavors.
Lost countenance: Ferelden to Orlesian Phrase Book
Must not offend the potential landlords
Raising Spirits: Offsprings and the Fade
Terrible two's indeed!
Forest Fall: Truth and Legend in the Search for Arlathan
-Survivors? poppycock!
The Origin of Theses: Knowing more than Everyone without Looking Like a Jackass
-Never get the time to read this. Maybe there's a stage play? "
For those that don't know Foreshadow, he appears in a few BW games and predicts the future. I thought it meant DA2 would be set in Orlais looking for Morrigan and the demon god baby, which obviously it wasn't. I never played the witch-hunt DLC so I don't know if he was foreshadowing that.
I'm not sure it could be DA3 though because of "Raising Spirits: Offsprings and the Fade, Terrible two's indeed!" Morrigan's baby would be older than 2 by the end of DA3, I think it would be 10 at least.
It seems strange to me though that my DAO end had Leliana staying with me and we traveled together, but in DA2 she is a seeker searching for the Warden who has disappeared. There is no continuity.

Please Bioware take your damn time with DA3.
Hawke again? I doubt it. I have a feeling we'll be a Seeker of the chantry. It goes back to the mold 'join/be a member of a super organization' And it makes sense story wise, as such a character would have immediate clout with the nobles of Orlais. Hell, he/she could also be a Mage and Templars can't do jack since he/she is an agent of the divine [so it explains that possible plot hole]
Best of all, Seekers are like Thedas's version of Mass Effect's Spectres.
DRAGON EFFECT 3 BABY!
As for the final fate of Hawke and the Warden, who knows. Probably both pulled through Eluvians against their will [or they went through willingly, in the Warden's case] so that the powerhouses that they are will be unavailable to change what inevitably comes next.
Great Handwaving. Bioware will surely do as such.
Of course, if Bioware had any guts, they'd make origins for DA3, even if it was only like 3 of them, and one of them would be the godbaby, and they'd voice em all.
Because let's face it. A lot of people really really want to be the OGB.
But they won't. Because Bioware is focused on telling stories they want to to tell, not the stories people want to see.
So I predict we'll be a new character, the Seeker, either human or elf, with a french accent.
And people will be mad.

Same here. I don't have anything against French people but their accents might just be the worst to have ever graced my ears.
Maybe because accents are fake(except Léli and Riordan)

Probably orlias and somewhere else, cause when you bump into some grey wardens in act 3 I think? they mention of problems happening up north that they need to attend to, so who knows
