So, I'm playing a Jerk!Hawke.

Every answer is rude or combatative.

Will denying companions help with their quests gain Rivalry with said companion?

CAse in point, Aveline is asking Hawke help with a job (it's her first quest in Act 1), if I tell her Get a guard to do it, will it stop the quest and that's it or will it still give me the quest, but I gain Rivalry with Ave?

Just curious how far the Jerk!Hawke can go.

Generally refusing to help people will get you rivalry. Although sometimes it can get friendship like with the Ninnet quest if you refuse to help him you still get the quest but you also get friendship with isabela.

Any option with a big red X is a refusal to do the quest. There are one or two quests you can pick up even if you tell the quest giver you won't do it. But I don't think any of the companion quests are like that.

Hrm, too bad.

I just refused the quest and didn't gain any rivalry. I'm guessing gaining Rivalry with Bethany and Aveline is tough?
