I hope Fenris he was my romance character for this game. I would be cool with just a small cameo or something. Because when I saw Zevran my first thought was 'omg why aren't you with my warden??'

So if my hawke shows up I want to see Fenris with her!

Not sure (definately NOT the old god baby, since it doesn't exist in some of my runs, and is has been stated by the devs to not be cannon)

Cassandra, and I'm hoping either a Tevinter/Imperial Chantry Templar or a Magister. Actually, I would love to see an agent of the Black Divine involved. Sandal and Bodehn will probably be merchants. Another Dalish elf, perhaps from Ariane's clan. Since the world's at war it could be an elven rogue seeking to steal artifacts of his/her people that the chantry/Divine has locked away.

I would also love to see a Nevarran Dragon Hunter, maybe one on a quest to slay the most elusive high dragon of all time?

And a female mabari. Why should boys have all the fun?

Cullen, I liked how he turned out in DAII, and he might be a little less MageRage after what happened with Meredith....

Bodan and Sandal as merchants - you can't leave them out now!

A female Qunari could be interesting...And the Darkspawn could be...really, really intriguing.

SKETCH!!!! I really liked him in Lelianna's Song, and seeing him back in DAII made me squee. (Sketchy on the Details quest, Act II)

If DAIII is going to be in Orlais them maybe Aveline and Donnic? At least as cameos? Could be hilarious.

For a Dalish companion...Fenarel? And if he is he'd better be an LI! (Part of the Dalish Warden's/ Merrill's clan, seen again in DAII)

And there has to be a Mabari!

I can see Cassandra, Varic, and maybe Aveline as companions. Heck, we may even see a lot more of Sten (or whatever rank he has at that point in time)

And since Flemeth was brought back with only a small fragment of her old self, she may be an interesting companion as she tries to regain her power.

Oooh, I like the idea of seeing a magister. I'm not sure that the Tevinters would even have templars, though.

I would very much like to see Merrill again. I'm not sure how likely it is. Then again, I would have never predicted Oghren in Awakening.

Alright, Lot of people looking at " possible companion ideas" can we look at Orlais, see various parts of it, and Isolate certan parts of it that might produce some origional companions?

We know there are gonna be a lot of Chavalies around, as well as the Chantry, the Nobles and their bards.... so that's four character sourses right there.

So many of your DAII companions have the chance of, well, dying, that I hope that this doesn't automatically disqualify them from returning as future companions. I'd love a mix of Origins and Dragon Age II characters, with a couple newbies thrown in. How likely that is to happen, well, who knows?

I want Nathaniel Howe most. If he comes back as a companion (especially a romancable one), I will officially believe that me from the future is making these games.

I also thought Cullen had a decent shot of returning. That'd be interesting while playing as a mage, no?

It'd be much easier to decide on who could possibly be a companion in the next game if we had one legitimate canon storyline. There's just so many different ways it could go. IF the next game is set in Orlais, which sounds reasonable....I think we can say Leilana, Bohdan, Sandal, and Zev will at least have some kind of cameo in the game...And then we have our staples, over-arching unresolved storylines from Morrigan and Flemeth- so possibly one or both of them. If Alistair is king of Ferelden- I'd say he'll have some kind of interest, possibly. The Warden and Hawke have disappeared and are off being secretive together...

Really the only person I want to see again as a major character is Fenris. Besides all the ones we're likely to see anyway. Fenris.

Also, I agree that Cullen would be cool.

^ This. I'd also quite like to see your love interest and sibling as companions again, but I doubt that due to the many outcomes that can occur. Isabela and Sebastian too (regardless of the outcome). Maraas would be an awesome companion. And Nathaniel. Also I'd like to see a family member of The Warden made a appearance, like Fergus from the Human Noble Origin or Cyrion from the City Elf one. I'd also like Sigrun, Shianni, Ariane and Velanna to return from Origins as companions too. A female qunari would be cool too.

Connor? .... Hell yes, think about it.. the poor kid already has A) a sad backstory a powerful connection to the fade C) established cannon D) a connection to Orlais through his mother. Plus, the endings in which he died were unlikely, and with a little messing about with the plot, you could get him in there.

It'd Be nice to having him fending off demonic infuance for your entire time knowing him..... trying to resist the temptation to become the " Little General" abomination again. Filling Up His friendship means coaxing him away from these demons, while Rivalry has you asking him to give power a chance.

I could Imagine his Companion Tree would Involve some blood magic, and perhaps summoning some Undead as minions in the midst of combat.

What about the Starmetal meteor baby? I suspect he becomes a scholar-brother of the Chantry, a scribe if you will, or perhaps a "clark?" :-)

Before anyone tell me he's overpowered, remember his well-documented weakness to magic.

What I would like to see is whatever romance you have get carried over to see it continue.... or end, whatever your choice. the companions hardly ever carry over except for cameos. How about a true continuation with what you import since it's suppose to effect your game anyway?

I hope they could come up with a feature to include your characters' Li from DA:2 if the next game's about Hawke as well.

What I would most like to see (assuming Hawke is again the protagonist) is the return of whomever your LI was. As a bonus character, I guess since the romances are optional. As long as I have my Merrill, all will be right with the world... :-P

Before playing DA2 I would have liked to see more of Nathaniel Howe, but his cameo killed it for me. I assume he was given a different voice actor. He came across as more gruff than in Awakenings and the delivery was wooden.

I'd like to see Fenris in DA3 and again, that's partly down to the the voice acting - I could listen to Gideon Emery's voice all day. I'd also like the chance to see his character develop further and whether he's moved on from the past or taken a step backwards. Then again he's yet another character who some players would have killed and they can't keep bringing everyone back to life. Or can they?

Apart from that I'd like to see Varric, Bodahn and Sandal for sure. Cullen surprised me in DA2 because I didn't really like him at all in DA:O and suddenly he'd grown up and was showing signs of being a good leader. I think he might return again as a pivotal figure you deal with rather than as a party member but I could easily be wrong there. With all of the instability he might not end up taking Meredith's place for long. I was never that keen on Leliana though I didn't hate her either, but I think she's a shoe-in to reappear in some capacity after the ending of DA2.

No Mabaris if you end up with the game set in Orlais. You'll have to make do with a poodle instead. It could gnaw at the ankles of your adversaries.

Many others are possible as cameos/quest givers. I hope the dead stay dead this time.
