New ones hopefully. For me biggest pain in DA 2 is Anders. I never liked that guy but he stuck to me like a bad dissease you can't get rid off.

None of the companions made me feel like I want more of them in future. If I really have to pick one from DA 2 it will be Aveline. Also never can say no to more Zevran-loving. Hmmm maybe Morrigan too. As the Warden is back I assume also is she.

Just for sake of listing:
- Zevran (DA:O)
- Morrigan (DA:O)
- Aveline (DA 2)

Heh, as the list above will fill a party there won't be a time for me to know any new companions. All 3 are too good to pass.Image IPB

The most likely is either completely new Antagonists or they'll use the Champion again cause the ground work is already in place. Unless they opt to turn the PC into a Mannequin again for the hero of Fereldon variations. Seems pretty unlikely. Plus it's going to have been 10 years or a bit more than that story wise since the Fifth Blight.

Orlais will be a bit of the focus since in both some Origins Epilogues, Bohdahn & Sandal and so on. Can probably expect Leliana and Cassandra in some fashion. I'd love some of the old characters to return, but to be honest one or two recognizable is fine. Give us new characters with different stories. Or at least new opinions. I do love Varric, but I'd settle for no less than Leliana and Cassandra in my party. A rogue and a Warrior right there.

Assuming a new main character...
I can see Varric making a comeback.
Cassandra could play a pretty big role.
Cullen seems like he's set up pretty well to become a companion.

I'd be a sad panda if we got yet another protagonist. I've grown very attached to my M!Hawkes, I love his voice.

As for companions...

- Cassandra seems to be the most likely candidate, and I'd like to see more of her.
- Cullen had the perfect growth/character arc from DA:O to DA2 and could work very well as a companion.
- If anyone's going to return from DA2, the three unkillable companions (Varric, Isabela, Sebastian) are most likely. The latter has close ties to the Chantry, which would make sense.

The female Qunari people have mentioned? I mean, I'd like to SEE female Qunari, but as a companion? What is she going to do?  Cook for you, tell you a story, educate you about the Qun? Gender roles pretty much dictate that a female Qunari would be pretty useless in a battle. If she goes against her assigned role, she wouldn't be a Qunari anymore. A female Tal-Vashoth I could see working though.

You can consider Anders and Sebastian out. I doubt they'd bother to do it as another Kaeden & Ash like Mass Effect 1. I mean the options is one has to die or the other leaves off to start his own version of a war. Ariqun leads the priests among other things. Many assume the Ariqun is actually female and to a point is one of the most important. They decide the fate of all Qunari and train them all for their future roles. The Arishok is the Body and the Arigena is the Mind. Crafting, trade and so on. None is more important than another. The Arishok and the Ariqun on equal footing though even more fitting. The Ariqun decides who the next Arishok will be most likely and trains them for said task.

Cullen would be alright, although why he would be in Orlais (where I am completely positive the next installment will be), I have no idea.

That elf girl you rescue(ish) from the magistrate's son, she joined the guard in my game, clearly she will be a companion.

I would like to see Aveline, Fenris, Varric, Nathaniel, Isabela, and Cullen(if he still has Greg Ellis voicing him).

Depending on the time-frame, he could have been called before the Divine to give an account of what went down in Kirkwall.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. He's the highest ranking individual with Chantry relations that both survived the conflict AND was damn near at the center of it. If anyone would be called to Orlais, it would be him. If he abandons the Chantry (as the epilogue said many Templars did), he'd be a logical person for Cassandra to drag to Orlais too.

If we're talking about DA3 protagonist, I bet on Orlaisian, specifically a noble or someone from chantry/templar. Sandal and Bodhan is moving to Orlais (to work for the empress of Orlais), Divine Justina & chantry base is in Orlais and Orlais is about to have a big problem with Ferelden as well.

I'll be quite annoyed if our romance options don't make it back as companions. Why end the epilogue that your love interest runs off with you, if they don't come back? I'll never buy another DA franchise game again, if they make them cameos again.

Well that all depends on whether or not Hawke is the protagonist, doesn't it?

I'd rather none of them come back if Hawke is still mysteriously gone like the Warden. I was quite peeved to see Zevran running around Kirkwall and Antiva six years later instead of with my Amell. And don't get me started on Leliana. I bet the Morrigan romancers are laughing now. "At least we got to go through the mirror together!"

I might be wrong and correct me if I am, the game only went up to 7 years in storytelling. What happened to the last 3 years? Most likely I think the final chapter will be an add-on and will take place in Hawke's present time. Atm the game didnt feel it had reached a conclusion, there is far too many questions that needs answering so very likely all of the companions that are still alive should return.

DA3 however I think will probably have a new protaganist and story. It would be great if in DA3 you get to meet and fight alongside your imported npc Grey Warden and Champion of Kirkwall hero for the big finale.

Year 10 is present time. The year Varric is telling the story.

Not Anders because he's dead. Unless he gets plot armor... twice now...
