Just thought this was a little important to post.  It seems like two things happen: this glitch affects you, or it does not.  Why it does not some people I don't know.  But to test it, I took Isabela out of my party and put her back in 20 times, went to Hightown at dark and got in a fight.  There was no difference in animation speed.. and I'd notice -100% :P

So, just to clear things up, this must be circumstantial.  If we can find that circumstance, maybe this could be avoided?

I've heard the bug only occurs when the characters are forcefully removed from your party. Like during quests, when you enter the estate or when you go to the Qunari compound with Isabela. So if you didn't do that, try that and see.

Okay. I will retry (can do this easily by going to The Docks and repeatedly entering the Qunari area as it forces Isabela out)

According to my understanding , the "bug" is triggered by Isabella's Thumbs Up ability which activates when she is friendly . The same was said about Sebastian's ability Manof the Cloth which supposedly did a similar effect.

Don't worry, I do have her Thumbs Up ability.

I just forced her out of the party 20 times. No difference in attack speed. My platform is Xbox 360. This must be circumstantial.

I just got it for the first time a few hours ago. It's very noticeable as a rogue ><.

I have had Isabela leave the party once when going to the qunari compound. I don't know if she was ever forced out through a quest. I don't remember.

20 times should be a -100% and I should have nothing to counter it.

Simply put, I do believe, like other glitches, that this does not always happen. There must be something that either triggers it, or some people are just unfortunate. =/

For PC users, you can get around the issue by downloading this and extracting it to your override folder. It's a rough workaround, but seems to work fine. Remember to remove it from your override folder once Bioware comes up with a patch to fix this problem. I'd be surpriced if it wasn't a part of the next patch.

Look in the technical help forums for your platform, and there should be a thread there about this slowdown bug. It is well known now, and understood by Bioware, so a fix is bound to be in the works. Hope they get it out soon.

The link I gave above, also gives a description of the problem and why and how it happens.

The bug isn't incurred by repeatedly adding and removing her, as I understand it. It's incurred by saving the game with her not in the party, then loading that save. You should notice in your abilities menu that her boon appears to be active. Then add her and remove her from your party and you should incur a -5 penalty, and the boon will be gone. Save and load again, add her and remove her again, and keep repeating that and it should take you down to -50% which I believe is the lower limit.

The bug has nothing to do with taking Isabella in and out of your party. It's when you load a save without Isabella in your party, and her Thumbs Up ability is still active. Each time you load a save without Isabella in your party and her thumbs up is still active, you'll lose 5% speed.

Ah, okay thank you. I'll know how to avoid it then. People were saying it was a matter of adding/removing her. :S So, everytime I love a save, I'll just have to make sure she's in the party at that moment, and it won't matter?

Was this ever fixed by Bioware? I seem to recall it was, but I have patch 1.04 and it seems to be happening. I am in the Night Terrors quest, Isabela just got booted, and I still have the buff.

EDIT: Great, and the author of the mod to fix it has hidden the mod... so I cant download it....
