I was just going through a speed run with a femshep Sentinel on Normal. I was going through Grunt's Loyalty mission and just to see what happens decided not to kill the Maw this time and just wait the five minutes. Garrus and Grunt took the sucker down in two minutes and thirteen seconds without me firing a single shot. Pretty damn impressive.
Anyone else ever have their squadmates take down the Thresher Maw?

I'm not surprised. The game is really, really easy on normal. Been trying a speedrun on normal as a soldier recently, and it's quite insane how quickly you can just destroy everything. In general you don't really need to take cover either.
The thresher maw is quite a bit tougher on insanity if I remember correctly. But then again I never did an insanity run as a soldier with Mattock + AR.

Yeah this is the first time I've ever actually played on Normal (just trying to hear all Hale's dialogue, never imported my FemShep until now) but it's still kind of surprising I mean this is supposed to be the default difficulty and there's an achievement for killing the Maw so I assumed it would take some effort. Garrus is a monster with the Inciscor and he kills scions before I can reach them. Against the Human-Reaper I'm going to try and see if he and Thane can manage it on their own.

It's the same on Veteran with Garrus and Grunt...though I did take 2 shots with the Widow early on in the fight.
