This is arguably wasting two tactics slots, but it ensures the Main Character gets to strike the killing blow.

Personally, the first tactic is to heal thyself with a potion on any companion. So, we start at tactic 2.
Tactic 2:  Enemy:Health < 10%  Action: Wait
Last Tactic Slot:  Enemy:Attacking Main Character  (Your Choice: Use Ability like Taunt or Attack).

I did this on the Ogre in the Tower of Ishal during the battle at Ostegar.  It allowed my mage to get the killing blow. Yippee.  I now know how to keep the companions from killing the Genlock in front of me.. LOL
