Neither, my Shepard would park the Normandy in your living room and incinerate your home with it's thrusters. Just saying.

Also, on topic (as if that matters) romance.

Story trumps all this romance BS everytime for me in this game. I'm more interested in what the story/lore has to offer.

Renegade Shepard would care more about his LI then the fate of the galaxy, where Paragon Shepard would painfully do what needs needs to be done. "The need of the many, outweigh the need of the few".

depends on a Shepard.
but several of my Shepards subscribe to Neo mentality, you know where he goes off to save Trinity despite architect telling him that it will result in deaths of everyone in Zion? and then manages to save Zion anyways and actually break the cycle of "the one" ? (of course both of them still die, but the point is - he loves her too much to just let her die without at least trying to save her, he cannot just let go)

Depends on the LI ;)
But I would do a playthrough for each. Tough question though!

This.

I wouldn't be seeing it as abandoning Earth, but a way of showing that your LI literally means the world to you.

Saving the galaxy is Shepard's favourite thing on the Citadel. Luckily, Shepard seems to be able to have five or six different favourite things at the same time as apparently being dead to the wider galactic community. So this seems to be an either/or question that doesn't necessarily need to be asked. Everyone knows that Shepard's real love is the Earth. Scuttlebutt says that preorder DLC for ME3 will be a treehugging minigame for paragon points ;)

Will HELP Reapers to destroy earth before letting Liara die. (Actually I would kill Reapers by exploding earth while they are reaping humans).

Save the earth ofcourse, but she wouldn't let her romance die unless she was going to die herself.

Either they both die to save earth or neither of them die... I'm going to be miffed if my romance dies after i was celibate all ME2.

My Shepard would let everything burn while I laugh the council in the face and then assume control.

"I dont mind if the whole world blows aways, for me you are all my world.........NOT" shepard sacrifices LI to end harbingers life and then takes all the credit as hero and goes on vacation to virmire with kelly sexydancing.

Now seriously  " Im sorry baby, but the whole universe, all the races.. all the liveforms..all families, are more important than any of us alone.....live your life, enjoy it, because that was the whole reason for all this war..sorry baby.. ill be waiting for you wherever i go ILU)" shepard sacrifices himshelf to let her LI live and save the whole universe.

This. My main Shepard will probably save the LI, but will also try to save the Earth if possible.

Now that I've seen this thread, I'm starting to wonder if ME3 will pull a Heavy Rain on us (how far will you go to save someone you love).

I don't that would be a legitimate choice. Shepard has always single-mindedly tried to stop the Reapers. If Shepard now would screw billions of people for personal happiness, that would be a very different Shepard. And if Shepard would seriously do that then why even put the LI in harms way. Tie the LI up and hide them in the furtherest corner of the galaxy until this is all over.

I would assume that the LI would have something to say about that ...

I can imagine that on some scale Bioware would attempt something like that, where you have to decide between ones LI and the fate of other people. Or if you cheated on your ME1 LI that whoever isn't your LI in ME3 will get themselves killed in the process ... The whole build-up of LIs etc. is probably tooo tempting to not ask ones Sheppard for a priece.

Just can't imagine that they would do that on such a grant scale, personally that would be a big downer, because I can imagine that one would save 1 live over billions and still be a "Hero" and specifically that the LI would be able to stay with ones Sheppard. Specifically as you would be responsible for teh death of billions because you just put your own happiness over that of billons. That wouldn't seem like the "hero" the ME series seems to present.
