but several of my Shepards subscribe to Neo mentality, you know where he goes off to save Trinity despite architect telling him that it will result in deaths of everyone in Zion? and then manages to save Zion anyways and actually break the cycle of "the one" ? (of course both of them still die, but the point is - he loves her too much to just let her die without at least trying to save her, he cannot just let go)

But I would do a playthrough for each. Tough question though!

This.
I wouldn't be seeing it as abandoning Earth, but a way of showing that your LI literally means the world to you.

This. My main Shepard will probably save the LI, but will also try to save the Earth if possible.jeweledleah wrote...

Now that I've seen this thread, I'm starting to wonder if ME3 will pull a Heavy Rain on us (how far will you go to save someone you love).

I don't that would be a legitimate choice. Shepard has always single-mindedly tried to stop the Reapers. If Shepard now would screw billions of people for personal happiness, that would be a very different Shepard. And if Shepard would seriously do that then why even put the LI in harms way. Tie the LI up and hide them in the furtherest corner of the galaxy until this is all over.
I would assume that the LI would have something to say about that ...

I can imagine that on some scale Bioware would attempt something like that, where you have to decide between ones LI and the fate of other people. Or if you cheated on your ME1 LI that whoever isn't your LI in ME3 will get themselves killed in the process ... The whole build-up of LIs etc. is probably tooo tempting to not ask ones Sheppard for a priece.
Just can't imagine that they would do that on such a grant scale, personally that would be a big downer, because I can imagine that one would save 1 live over billions and still be a "Hero" and specifically that the LI would be able to stay with ones Sheppard. Specifically as you would be responsible for teh death of billions because you just put your own happiness over that of billons. That wouldn't seem like the "hero" the ME series seems to present.
