I know the epic duel between Hawke and and Arishok is a great and tremendously fund fight, but seriously, I hear about people getting Isibela to come back and give your the book, how the hell do you do it????

[[EDIT]]
Also, on a side not, what is the armor called that Hawke is wearing when Varrek first starts his story?

She comes back when you are fighting the Arishok, same thing happened to me mate, I was like WTF when she left, you can either duel Ari to keep her or let him take her and he leaves I think. Didn't give her up to try it cause Isa was my LI at the time.

You have to have her friendship or rivalry at... I think the number was 50% for Isabella to come back during the Arishok battle. Basically just get her Friendship or Rivalry as high as possible before the Arishok and she'll come back with the book. You have to give him Isabella too, though, if you want a peaceful solution. All other options lead to the less-than-epic battle.

the way I did it was when Isabela and Aveline come to your house take Isabel's mission first and tell her you are going to give the book the the Qunari she will run off and when you get to the keep and talk to the Arishok she will run in with the book then if you say you will not hand Isabela over to him he will ask you to deul if you say no to that your whole party fights him and a bunch of Qunari. But i think your rep with Isabela has to be high as well for her to come back.

Get her at 50% friendship and she'll come back with the book.

As for the armor at the beginning, you get it throughout Act III. And it's called the "X of the Champion" armor set.

Though you get the gloves at the very start of act 3, chest from a high drag or just go get the runscript vaddi or vaddin mods.

Edit:
Gloves: Right at the start of act 3
Chest: From high dragon on mine massacre quest.
Boots: From Huon the elf blood mage.
Hood: from that mage chick that you possibly let go from the Blood mage Cave on Best Served Cold quest if Im not mistaken.

I don't have the "mod option", I'm playing PS3, plus, I'd rather get it the normal way

Ok, so the all in all consensus of how to NOT kill Arishok is make sure Isabela's friendship rating is over 50 so that she brings back the book relic?

yep. Friendship OR Rivalry paths have to be 50% or more. And if you choose to turn her over, Arishok leaves, no fight/duel required. You also lose Isabela for the rest of that game (though Varric talks about her fate in the interim of Acts 2 and 3 if you do).
I've seen it, but never done it.
I also (on my first run) lost her when she ran off with the book since I had no clue how to build up her friendship to keep her. I ended up fighting him with my group since I also didn't have Fenris that game either, having missed his pick up quest in Act 1.

I would have wanted the Arishok to live and also become Viscount of Kirkwall, but I only found out these were possible after I completed the game...but I suppose Hawke can't exactly metagame :P

You realize that if the Arishok became the ruler of Kirkwall, he would have instituted brutal labour camps and mass re-education programs? And that the Chantry or some other neighbouring city would have marched on the city to re-claim it?

The Qun is a lot less appealing than the Qunari make it out to be. Anyone that doesn't submit to the Qun is shown no mercy.

I think he meant becoming the Viscount by siding with the Templars. Making the arishok the viscount would be way too crazy.
