I read at the unofficial Wiki that when you unlock a specialization, like Bard for example, that specialization stays unlocked. So if you start a new character and decide to become a bard with him aswell, you'll just need a specialization point (I think you get your first one at lvl 7) to choose it (i.e. not be required to find the trainer/book/manual/thing again). I don't like that! If I'd complete the game as an, say, Assassin, then make a new character whom I'd also want become an Assassin, I'd want to unlock the specialization again. I want to feel that I've actually done something to get the specialization; "deserve it", simply put. I hope we'll be able to "lock" specializaions again by changing a line some game file!
Then restrict yourself from taking it until you have completed that requirement again. Easy peasy.

I think we can end the thread now...let's talk about spoons, they can be curvy or straight, which ones do you prefer?
I prefer grapefruit spoons. You know, the ones with the teeth on the tip? No, not "sporks" grapefruit spoons.
They're awesome. You don't see those around much, anymore.
I'm just curious as to what the requirements to unlocking the specific ones ARE. There are a couple I'd like to take, I'm just not sure how to unlock the locked ones (if there are any that are un-locked in the beginning)

Meanwhile, I would hope that what the OP referred to works like this: In any given game, once you've completed a quest, any character can take advantage of the available specialisation. If you start a new game, you'll have to do that quest again. That seems okay to me. Or did I misunderstand?
