I liked the background music when you're exploring the Wounded Coast. The harp gives the music a real sense of mystery and isolation. Great stuff!

That song played in DA:O at the Lake Calenhad docks.

Act 2's ending climax with "Qunari on the rise" theme.

This one for me too. This theme increases the epicness of any fight by 100%. Much better than the one used in the Meredith fight.

I also loved the music on the party selection screen.

Did it? I thought it was a different theme. Looks like I'm going to have to fire up my DA:O and check it out.

Thanks for the heads-up, KAA. :)

The soundtrack is one of the weaker elements of the DA series. DA2 had a lot more consistant quality over Origins, though there were still some flops.

Rogue's Heart, Mage Pride, Fenris' Theme, and Qunari On The Rise were all great.

The only time I can remember where I actually felt chills was in Origins. The Warden had just finished saying goodbye to the companions (which was also very emotional with great music), and ran through a crowd of cheering soldiers while DA's main theme swelled in the background. It was especially potent in my Cousland/Morrigan playthrough, as I felt a great sense of finality and loss. That scene gets me every time.

I actually think the music is one of the weakest points of DA2. For me, there were no memorable moments that I associated with music.

The scenes you mentioned were good, but definitely not because of the music, in my opinion.

This, probably has something to do with him being rushed. Stated that he was in an interview.

I especially like the end. When the track "Dark Dawn" plays when Leliana looks up with the book in her hands.

I thought the ambient music in the Deep Roads did a lot better job of conveying the unpleasantness of the place than Origins' did.

When does Mage Pride show up in the game, anyway?

Fenris' theme in conversations and the music when he shows up fir the first time.
Hawke family theme when Carver shows up in Act 3 to help you (or Beth)
The qunari theme whe Petrice first showed Ketojan. That was really powerful for me.
The moment when you kill Anders. I only did it once just to see it and I know I'll never be able to do it again, Ive reloaded really quick afterwards just to keep him alive.
Oh, and when Marethari shows up in the alienate. It was really beautiful and magical, and sad at the same time.

Overall i think DA2 songs are more bearable than Origins

In my opinion the songs of Origins are better. For example the battle theme during fights in Denerim or the music in the party camp. Not to mention the emotional themes like the music you hear when you meet Sten in the cage or Lelianas song.

For me the music in DA2 doesn't prompt feelings. I would call it all-purpose music. Imagine the scene when Hawks mother died with the mentioned cage theme. It would be so much better.
