It would be pretty cool. Then you would have to explain all of your actions for what occurred in Mass Effect 2, which would be a pretty cool recap thing for the beginning of the game. And then all of your crew members could serve as the defense....yeah....that could work.

But what if Shepard turned down being reinstated? And was then tried for working with a terrorist group? He'd be considered another Saren, perhaps.
