I've certainly seen a fair amount of feedback that says, "I couldn't play Origins, I thought it was too slow, the story was too plodding, too typical, and Dragon Age II is awesome by comparison!"
I forgot the kubler-ross model...what comes after denial?
See, what I don't get is why all the awards that DA:O won, all the critical praise, the fact that it sold so well is completely discounted.
Focus groups are fine, but it seems that the anecdotal is being put ahead of and believed above aggregate data. It's easy enough to take the numbers and have them say what you want them to say I suppose, but just the overwhelming critical success of DAO should be proof that this reaction was really not what the majority of people who played DAO felt.
Edit: I really liked both games. I wish DA2 had more individual character interaction with the companions, in particular the love interests, but all in all, both are enjoyable.
