Ok, first off, I've only started on the Mass Effect novels in the past 2 weeks. I finished Ascension last night, and Retribution should be arriving this week. Also, the 4th book mentions Gillian Grayson learning to understand and control her powers, and it's released before Mass Effect 3.
I'm still a little hazy on the timeline, but could Gillian Grayson be our Jack in Mass Effect 3? She's young, with the potential to be an amazingly powerful biotic. I'd love to see a true crossover with the novels.
However, as I said, the timeline is a bit hazy to me, but I'm sure a lot of you guys know more than I do.
From what I understand, Gillian is age 12/13 around the events of Sovereign attacking the Citadel. But, Gillian will be "busy" for 4 or 5 years (No spoilers!). Mass Effect 2 takes place 2 years after Sovereign's attack (right?). Could there possibly be a 2/3 year gap between Mass Effect 2 and 3? I'd say it's highly unlikely, considering the Reapers were already on their way at the end of Mass Effect 2. Maybe they're just really, really, really, really, really far away
With the 4th novel coming out before Mass Effect 3, it's really not going to deal with a time after the Reapers have been taken care of. So, surely the timelines must tie in. Maybe Gillian comes back early? Maybe Shepard hunts her down for a squadmate?
Or, maybe she'll have nothing to do with Mass Effect 3. I just found it strange that the next novel is coming out a month or two before the game, seems like a prequel to meeeee
i dont see her as a squadmate because well pretty much keep the me2 crew. but i wouldnt mind a cameo by her though
