what a joke.. i know da2 is not perfect but 2.5 did this reviewer even play the game... seriously

He did. If you take a look at what he wrote on twitter (or indeed read the disclaimer at the end of his review, where he states how long he played, on which platform and that he indeed finished the game) you can see that he didn't like the experience from the very start.

Well the opening of the game is the demo. It does not exactly make a good first impression.

Ha ha ha 4Chan, rofl, chokes on the idea rofl haha ha.

Seriously if 4Chan wanted to attack anyone it would be EA not this site. This site serves consumers so it would not be a valid target for them. They attack the system not its users.

And even if you were only joking, having the topic title you have chosen is misleading to say the least. It implies that all of the bad reviews for the game are some form of conspiracy. The truth of the matter is that DA 2 is at best an average game and at worst spitting in the face of the players that backed the franchise in the first place.

He played for 22 hours. That should be enough time to change someones mind. Looking at his previous reviews he usually likes Bioware games (gave Mass Effect at 10/10 for example). I think it's safe to say he knows that these games tend to have a slow start.

Are 4Channers hacking game sites now and publishing fake reviews? Or was it RPGCodex? Or perhaps the Trolls Liberation Force issuing yet another terrorist attack? Bush?!

There is nothing 4chan related about Brad's review or feelings about DA2. Unlike many of the positve and negative Day 1(pre-day 1) reviews, Brad actually played the game to completion and dared to hold the idea that a sequel should measure up to the predecessor in more ways than sales. Also this reviewer is mostly concerned about story and how games play, he never gives bonus points for being pretty graphically.

It brings me much joy to finally see a major review site that wasn't bribed by EA and/or isn't catering to the casual sheep herds. My personal score was around 3-3.5, but now I realised I may have missed a few more major flaws (and he still hasn't mentioned many of them), so I guess 2.5 is an appropriate verdict.

What brings me even more joy is people actually believing this is rpgcodex's/4chan's fault.

The OP was being sarcastic obviously. He's making fun of the Bioware employees that claimed the low scores on metacritic they were getting for the game were from a 4chan raid. It's meant to be funny.

I have to say at least this critic tells it how it is without dodging or sugarcoating the bad features of the game and then giving it a 85 or 95.

Persephone.

Looking at your attempted analogy, I would pose to you a correction on how it is presented.

Rather then arguing over two different singers, it would actually be this way:

Suppose your favorite opera singer was cast in a new opera that you were quite hopeful about. Then you heard that they were only giving the opera singer a week to rehearse and prepare.

Then when you viewed the performance, you liked what you heard....of the lines she remembered.

Much of the opera had open spots that the singer had to improvise to filll because there wasn't enough time to prepare for memorization.

Now in reviewing such an opera, would you say it was awesome? Or would you give it it's proper due, noting the missing elements replaced by improvisation?

According to what I've seen here, you seem to promote the former, rather then note the lack of completeness.

More like you dont like critical pictures of the game and remove them for no valid reason.

That's the funniest part... I've read so many reviews where they point out many of the flaws that just ruined the game completely for me, to the point they seem to be 'bashing' it. Then they end the review by giving it a 90±10. Maybe I just don't play enough games, but these flaws were so horrific to me that I knew I would never have gotten this game if it didn't purport to take place in a universe I loved (from the books and DA:O... and even Awakening).

I just don't understand how you could give DA2 a 2.5, as that is the equal of a game I know about, believe me its bad. Its a lorry racing game, but there are no lorries to race.

6 is average, 2 is, well the words aren't suitable for this site. 9 is exceptional, 8 is great, 7 is good. 5 is rubbish in game terms usually, and anything below is a joke. I'd give it around 7 myself, it was quite good, but then again they did take alot out of Origins, which made it great. It was a dissapointment in the end.

Reported for spreading negativity. We don't like that 'round here.

lol'd hard.

Anyway conclusions from the excellent and the very best DA2 review I have read:

I have absolutely no idea how such a respected development house could have made so many colossal mistakes and turned out such an unpleasantly rushed, shallow, utter waste of time... but they did, and it is. I forced myself to play the game to completion despite wanting to quit out of disgust and boredom at least a dozen times before credits rolled, but I shouldn't have bothered. The insulting level of quality in Dragon Age II is perfectly clear to see from the first hour or two, and everything that comes after is just more salt in the wound.

Other reviews has been more or less noob reviews for noobs, or marketing talk, or both..

Thanks of the link by the way. Bookmarked it. Will have to read some other reviews too from there to see if there is one good game review site in the world.

I actually doubt there can be a reasoned discussion in a thread with 4Chan in the title.

2.5 may sound a little harsh, but I think the reviewer sounded more frustrated and bewildered that BioWare could make such a game and an unusually low score was the best way to express that. I think if it weren't a BioWare title he would have rated it higher. As it is DA2 has gotten a lot of completely undeserved praise (lookin at you PCGamer), so the universe must correct itself. Either way the aggregate scores are starting to reflect reality a little more closely.

The game would had been ridiculous and absurd no matter who made it. If someone else than BW would had done DA2 I would had bashed them really hard of very failed and horrible copycatting.

Rofl will there read in it "Your account in social.bioware.com has been terminated for publicly criticising BW and hence indirectly the parent company EA."
