Does Healing Aura actually heal? Or does it just increase healing done
by heal ans/or pots? Cause if it's the latter, then the entire Spirit
Healer line is next to useless.

I think it's the latter, cause I was standing right next to Aveline when she was near death (pots were on CD, heal on CD), but it didn't save her. so I'm wondering if Spirit healer is any good.

On a related note, what's with the 40 second CD on Heal? It was 6 in Dragon Age.

you have to equip a bit of +health regen items for it to be worth keeping active, otherwise use it just to cast rezz and group heal and spend points elsewhere

and ye mage support is now based almost entirely on aoe and CC and CCC seting ups, its pretty bad to try and build a healer really, especially at lower levels, stick to primal entropy and spirit (primal in nightmare tho)

It will be a whole lot better when the revive is fixed.

This. When you can actually get enough points in spirit healing to make a good healer, respec to get them. Also I personally have found that force mage with spirit healer (having ways to keep enemies down or thrown helps with directing your team) is a pretty good combo imo

As far as I can tell, the passive Vitality ability gives Hawke +100 hp regen. But the sustainable Healing Aura increases the health restored with Group Heal and Heal (either that or it just plain doesn't work).

Healing Aura increases the regen rate for all party members within range (which is rather small). Even upgraded, the regen is insignificant. At best, you'll only want to take Healing Aura so you can grab Revive and Group Heal, group heal being the only essential talent you want since revive is bugged sometimes and you can revive using mythal's favor.
