I'm in Redcliff Village. Just started. It's before nightfall, if that makes a difference.

I'm on a PC, the web say's there is a chanter's board in the village that has a lot of side quests concerning the irregulars.

It will be outside the chantry which is near the slope you travel down. The chantry will show on the main map if you go into that.and the board is right outside it. I can't be more specific right now as I'm in Dragon Age 2 so I can't go into Origins and check for you.

It appears after the nightfall battle. Logical...shouldn't have a sign during the day!

Oh, just had a thought. I've a feeling the chanter's board doesn't appear until after you've completed the quest to save the village. I'm guessing you haven't done that yet?
