Link interview please. And if it's the one I think you're talking about from their interview at the DICE summit (), you shouldn't state your own interpretation as fact. He said that the Reapers are coming from somewhere, and we would have to explore that a little bit. VERY vague. I understand how you can ASSUME that we would visit their homeworld, but it is in no way stated as FACT.

Agreed. There are reasons behind working with Cerberus and ways to show that Shepard doesn't like this at all, but seriously, who in his sane mind thought that Shepard ever nominate Udina into the Council?SkyJackal wrote...
Everyone be sure to ask about the canonical status of the human councillor. It's a thorn in a lot of peoples collective side.
In the deafult story, I can live with Wrex dead (not that is was too difficult to keep him alive), or the council dead/alive, but Udina... for the Goddess' sake

Yup, that we get to travel to the Reaper place of origin is only one possible interpretation of that statement, since it's hugely vague. Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if that did happen in ME3.
I dunno, they've already got a massive threat looming on the edge of the galaxy, I'm not sure if tacking on the Reaper homeworld (home galaxy?) is necessary.
My guess is that they'll end ME3 with some foreshadowing that makes you wonder where the Reapers come from and that they'll keep that one up their sleave for ME4, ME5 and ME6.

I hope not; I want the Reaper plot to end in ME3, otherwise this whole fuss would be meaninglessly empty.implodinggoat wrote...

Not necessarely. The discovering and stopping the reaper's cycle of evolution is quite enough for a trilogy plot. The origin of the reapers and "home world" if there is any, still can left for other stories. Not for Shepard, her role in the universe is to stop them, be the Big Damn Hero and such. With the statue on the Citadel. And Earth. And the quarian homeworld...Fiery Phoenix wrote...

I'm more afraid that in ME3 there will be a "reaper queen" or "motherbase/ship" Shapard has to go in and blow up so the invasion stops. That would be soooo cliché, yet we've seen it so many times. I just pray that Bioware has something more unique and creative in their sleeve.

Agreed, my biggest fear also.
Right after a Dallas-style shower sequence. Done in the Family guy parody way of course.
"What's Mass Effect?" *Looks at camera*
Yeah, hopefully we can avoid the Independence Day ending. Although hijacking a reaper would be pretty effing funny. Maybe if all ME1 and ME2 squadmates had a reaper each we might just stand a chance
To be perfectly honest I haven't got a bloody clue how Shep's gonna defeat them, without it being one of the big sci-fi cliche endings i.e. mothership, time travel, superman-kiss;).
Maybe we can develop our own indoctrination technology and get the turian councillor to indoctrinate THEM, and just keep telling them they don't exist. Perfect.

ME3 will put an end to the trilogy of Shep and company, but this don't means that the reapers will be defeat at all.
They wont kill the gold chicken eggs

That's precisely what I meant actually. The Reaper threat needs to be stopped by the end of ME3. Not necessarily by eliminating the whole thing altogether, but it has to come to an end in order to justify the entire premise of the trilogy. Anything else that is Reaper-related could still be left open for subsequent installments.Meglivorn wrote...

We dont even know if the reapers have a homeworld. I mean, they are supposed to be in Dark Space. One would assume that Dark Space has very little in it, say for the Reapers themselves. This is pure speculation though on my part. We know very little if anything about this as yet. I agree, 'in my opinion' is fine, but there are very few facts around so far, concerning this.
