The Long Road and Sheparding Wolves and Prime Suspect/All That Remains.

I actually got teary eyed at the completion of Sheparding Wolves o my first play through....I just wanted to hug that poor mage at the end....*sniff*

The Long Road was probably one of the most awesome companion quests ever. And I loved what different companions would say at the end. (Isabella and Aveline during The Long Road? Best writing ever!)

But really, there is some really great writing and reactivity with all the companions. This is one spot that shines above DA:O IMHO.

And the Arishok....loved the build up for Demands of the Qun. It was a much better lead up to the final confrontation that the Mage vs Templar thing.....

These were all already mentioned, but I would like to reinforce how awesome they were: A Bitter Pill (and Fenris' questline in general), All That Remains, The Long Road (Funniest quest EVER), Shepherding Wolves (I can't explain how awesome this is, I LOVE this quest and the mere thought of Petrice makes me want to rip someone's eyeballs out), the quest Meredith gives you with the De Launcets ("Oh, but the 'Anged Man is so FEEEEEELTHY!" "It IS filthy." "Sigh. Orlesians."), everything associated with the qunari (ARISHOK <3 And Fenris being able to talk to them like that and just knowing their culture was... probably the sexiest part of it all XD), Best Served Cold, Merrill's questline, Haunted, the BS part of Family Matter, Magistrate's Orders (D: Kelder), Gamlen's quest (not everyone in our family is insane! We have a nice cousin!), the Tahrone quest where you have to talk to the Tramp from Darktown (lulz), Carver's attitude as a whole, the Deep Roads expeditions (both of them - yay Nate!), Cullen redeemed himself nicely... I could go on.

But definitely A Bitter Pill, All That Remains, The Long Road, and Shepherding Wolves are my top favorites. They're so memorable for their own reasons, and stand out as unique stories and daring plots. The latter end of Act 1 and the whole of Act 2 were by far the high points of the game.

~ A Bitter Pill - there's just an amazing MOOD to this quest, and I found myself totally possessed by Fenris's feelings. I'm really curious who the HELL did animation for Fenris, because his subtle facial expressions and eye movements were just amazing, you can see entire novels written in his face and this quest (and Alone, which I LIKED better but wasn't quite as well written, imo) was awesome for that. Fenris's face is so expressive, far and away the best animated character. He's like a real person.

That would have been Sarah, the cinematic designer on my team. She would come into my office almost every day asking for background on what Fenris was like, how he might move, etc. If you can imagine me mimicking Fenris ("he sort of turns his head aside, like 'no, I can't...'") and she would get all excited and run off to make it perfect.

I'm really happy with how those scenes turned out.

I can't agree enough - Fenris' animations, the way he slumps and I think even the way he runs is completely different. Kudos to Sarah, then.

I have to agree here too...I loved Fenris' quests....and I think it had a lot to do with the VA and the animations on him....like when he leans up to Hadirana and says "I promise." but he looks so ominous, I was like "Ouh-oh....." she's going to TRUST Him????

And Alone, played through all the diologue options there and when you give him back to Denarius, the animation of total and utter DEFEAT on his face and body made it the fastest F9 hit in the history of my gaming.

The one Templar related quest where some of them were going missing. I forget its title. Near the end when I go to the Blooming Rose and that one woman tried to convince me to kill myself. That made me go WTF and it was really cool how I could have Anders save me (romanced him, so, yeah). The thing about that quest is that it made me for ONCE question whether the person should live (given to the Templars) or die. My first time through I actually killed her something I never outright do to NPCs when given the choice, because I'm ussually the goody-goody, but, the fact that she was about to turn Hawke against his own self.. to be the instrument of his own death was so dark and.... evil that I could not trust her lol Though I do hear that she does try to make amends down the road if she is allowed to lives. I am surprised no one at the blooming rose mentioned the dead woman upstairs though lol Its like, a corpse found in the Blooming Rose and the KNOWLEDGE that Hawke was the last one to confront her was never put together by anyone. That felt a little off, but then again only one woman knew and she didn't want Hawke spreading himself that she told him about the woman who serviced Templars.

Bait and Switch. Not because I'm fond of Fenris or some outstanding lines but because the outcome was completely surprising for me. I was producing conspiracy theories on who might want me dead after figuring out that it was a set up. Even blamed Gamlen for a moment while standing in the house, trying to figure out the guilty. Seeing slavers and Fenris outside simply made me WTF!

This and others like Sheparding Wolves and Magistrate's Orders made me appreciate the writing. You know, not every quest giver has to be a shining example of honesty or everything should go as it seemed in the first place. I'd love to see more of that...

I have to add Night Terrors to the list as well. One liners aside, this was really well written and constructed, and engaging all the way through. It was a perfect amount of time to spend in the Fade, and having the companions temporarily turn on Hawke was interesting from both story and gameplay aspects.

Almost everything to do with Anders, for me. (I've played four times, and was drawn into Anders three of the four times). The quest with Karl, especially when you play as dude!Hawke, just is very poignant for me.

The whole lily-killer quest line was brilliant.

The Long Road was also great as Aveline was adorable in her awkwardness.

Wayward Son/Night Terrors was another good quest line.

Fenris' quest line.

Basically, whenever the quests mattered enough to have reactive quests. I enjoyed those because you got to see the consequences of your actions. It made the game have more urgency.

Above all, any quest that allows Varric to do his bs talking thing. He was my a staple in my party because he was just that awesome.

All That Remains - That one made me step back from the computer to raid the kleenex box. I got pretty emotionally wrapped up in that one...especially with all the leads up to it When I found out Hawke's mom received white lilies...my heart sank. Then when your LI comes in after to comfort you.

The Long Road - This was one of my favourites and every time I do it, I laugh my *** of. Love it. Oh Aveline... "So what do you think...of blades?"

Anything with Anders. That one drew me in and took me for quite the whirlwind of a ride. I loved how much of a part he played in the story, despite my face on my desk and broken heart, hehe.

I also really enjoyed the entirety of the Qunari quests.

I enjoyed all of the quests, but those are the ones that really stood out.
