 Hey guys

So I've just started getting warnings that my hard drive is about to fail :(, I'm wanting to copy my saved games for DAO and DA2 to my external hard disk, can anyone tell me what files to copy?

Bit of a noob when it comes to techie stuff

Thanks

documents\\bioware\\dragon age 2\\characters

or you can just copy the entire dragon age 2 folder instead of just the characters folder. Probably safer

In fact, you may want to copy most of your documents folder in its entirety, since there's probably other stuff in there you don't want to lose ;)

Under "C:\\Documents and Settings\\<userID>\\" grab the desktop, favorites, and my documents folders. That should cover most things that aren't programs you'll need to re-install.

For newer windows versions, it's C:\\users\\<userID>\\

If you've got plenty of space on that external disk, you could just copy that whole <userID> folder and then pick and choose what you want to put back later.

In this instance, when the computer starts it gives a message "Imminent hard drive failure detected."

Yeah, I knew my HD was failing because I had to manually backup files, then i got new HD, and tried to transfer stuff to it, Windows no longer recoginized my old HD, had to use a friend's Linux CD to transfer my files, and sure enough his Linux was like "OMFG this drive is in serious trouble... Back it up a month ago!"
