That's because it's the ONLY tavern in Kirkwall. The red rose is the only other place to get drinks but decent people avoid it. The innkeeper of The Hanged Man can be found in it though stating that he can't drink in his own tavern because it'll feel like kissing his own sister. I wish there was more than one tavern...a tavern in Darktown would have been nice with criminals in.

Did you notice Hawke's ordering drink animation is exactly the same with Shepard? They even reuse cross game asset! I wonder if the model base is the same as well.

Sometimes you just gotta go where everyone knows your name.

True, there should be one in darktown or even one in the underground passage area.

Annoyingly I seemed to have 'used' up all the drinking animations. Either that or I am barred 'cause there is no more clicky to buy a drink.

I was hoping the proprietor would pay me money to walk outside and yell. The Hanged Man is the Champions favorite Tavern in Kirkwall!

I did notice that!  But I wish, just like ME, Hawke could drink a bunch, pass out, then wake up in the bathroom alley.

To be fair, Denerim only had one tavern, as well. But Redcliffe had one, Orzammar had one, and the Lake Calenhad Docks had one, too, so it wasn't as if Ferelden was a nation of teetotalers. DA3 needs more taverns, more than one per city.

I think they should have cross game easter eggs, that'd be fun.

Although such easter egg might pull you out of the game experience... so it's probably risky.

Varric says that there's bars in Hightown, but they're all owned by the merchants guild. And very well hidden, if you ask me. I can only assume Hawke's not allowed in. Hawke's trouble.

Keep in mind that you only explored the merchant district of Denerim most of the time. I'm sure there were more taverns. Kirkwall and Denerim are major cities, they would surely have more taverns.

This I missed or forgot. So I guess that explains it.

This was more an Easter Egg for the fans than a "lazy dev" moment.
