I just finished a fight with hordes of high HP Shades, an Arcane of Horror, an elite Revenant, an elite Rage Demon, and an elite Desire Demon on Hard. I first encountered them when I was in this empty room found at the cave near the northwest exit of the Dalish Camp. There were so many Shades spawning out of nowhere but luckily I finished the fight in one attempt with constant pausing and micromanagement. I have to admit, the fight was pretty frustrating. In the end, I get NOTHING. NO EXP, JUST... NOTHING. The quest was Forbidden Knowledge where you had to find the evil tomes around Kirkwall.
Way to reward me for my efforts, BIOWAAAAAAAAARE.
Wow, what a useless fight.

If you destroy all 5 tomes for the quest, and then actually read the last (6th) tome, you get +2 attribute points.

Eh, I think the reward is supposed to be access to the golem/shop in the corner of the room that has some unique items for sale. But yeah, as a reward for that fight, it was a bit of a letdown.

What you mean you get no EXP? That makes no sense, you get EXP for every Tome fight

This is also true, you get like 750 exp for destroying the tome, plus exp for killing whatever spawns.

I only needed 300 XP to level up and after finishing the fight, I got nothing. From a fight like that I expected 1000+ XP.

I haven't finished the fight in Nexus Golem room yet, but that would be a bummer if true.
