I've been having a TON of issues where right-clicking on items to examine them or talk to my companions doesn't work about 85% of the time. It's getting ridiculously annoying, up along the lines of the Mass Effect 2 scanning bug, only this time I can't figure out a way to get around it. I'm missing out on dialogue while examining objects in Hawke's home, or talking to companions or even trying to get the stupid barrel puzzle in the fade completed. Has there been anyone else dealing with this issue? It's starting to really grind my gears here.
Can't examine/use objects?

I have this issue every once in a while. Clearly not as common as you, if you're not exaggerating about the 85 percent of the time...Usually, to fix it, I just save the game, close it, and restart.

Sometimes the cursor gets stuck when you switch from inventory to normal gameplay. But I don't think that is what is happening to you.
To fix that inventory cursor stuck thing, just click on a companion's portrait to switch to them then switch back. usually fixes it.

Same thing happens here but like robo said, it's not often at all here

Experiencing the same issue as OP.
"Fix" it by switching from one character to another and then back again. The character who is unable to examine the object it should be able to then.
Gameplay is best in pause-play.

Yeah, I don't have that luxury when I'm trying to examine the items in Hawke's home, and I've tried switching between characters and alt-tabbing and it does nothing. I tried the barrel puzzle with every single character and I think I managed to move a single barrel once before it refused to work again.

This is a puzzling one to me.
I have 2 complete playthroughs now, and I did experience this problem. Thing is, it was only the first time in Docks in Act II. Not before, not after, not anywhere else. Doesn't make sense.
Sorry it has been so persistent for you.
