I've played the game about 5 times, beaten it about 4 times. The thing is, casual seems too much like normal mode. I've compared this to the casual mode of DA:O and DA:O's casual mode is a lot easier. I go into battle with a mage or a warrior or a rogue and the enemies that have tiny health bars take 8 or 9 blows to kill. The enemies with large health bars take even longer.

In DA:O it was easier to kill an opponent in 2 or 3 blows depending on strength of the enemy. Also the enemies in casual for DA2 are keeping pace with my characters as they level up. In DA:O this is not the case. Casual states that no matter what level your characters are, the enemies will always be lower in level and easier to kill. However this isn't true in practice when playing on casual.

I think this is a glitch and should be patched.

Not a glitch it's just a different scaling through DA2's difficulties.Try 2 hand warrior/berserker on normal, seems way to easy even for a low level mage.I suppose if you play more on casual you'd notice more difference than I would. The scaling up of enemies is obviously to give a challenge and use those talents you've been attaining.More pro's than con I think.Really normal/casual there isn't anything over challenging except ancient rockwraith and high dragon, and a few others.

Oh sorry forgot to say while they fix up the big bugs first, obviously people do play on casual so I hope at some point you get this balanced:)

Normal in general is far easier than it was in Origins. You also need to take into account that, on the console version, you are no longer fighting the controls to try and be competitive in a combat scenario. The game works with you, so Normal is easier by default. The only major difference I've noticed between Normal and Easy/Casual is that Easy/Casual has enemies dying a lot faster. Critical Hits from my 2HW on Normal deal maybe a modicum of damage, while Critical Hits on Easy/Casual seem to deal, at times, an entire health bar of damage.

All in all, this game IS easier than Origins on Casual/Normal, and only during two or three encounters game-wide is it any sort of challenge on those settings. Not that I mind, considering that I don't really play Bioware games for combat.
