Even though the answer will probably be "when it's done" I'll try my luck and ask.

Could you please give us at least an educated guess when the next patch will come? Or maybe at least a beta version of the patch like you did it with 1.01? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

So long,
Goodspeed

when it's done (incredibly tempted to hit submit at this point ;))

I can tell you for sure that you won't see it this week and that we're working very hard on it. Unfortunately, there are many variables and hoops to go through to get things to the public, especially via consoles, so the process is rather drawn-out. The way some of these posts read, I feel like some users think we just flip a switch or perhaps get a wizard to do it.:wizard:

Are you planning to release the PC one earlier, like a beta, or will we have to wait for the console approval processes?

Yeah, so is there any chance to release the PC patch before the console ones? (since we love you the most and all... )
Or is that bad for rep and such? either way, I want to be able to continue playing in act 3 but, alas, can not with the Merril bug.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi! You're my only hope! ... whoops I mean...

You DON'T get a wizard to do it...?

I outsourced to those guys years ago. Time to upgrade sir.

Thank you for the quick response! And thx for not giving in to the temptation...

Any chance there will be a beta version out earlier? As in this week? :>

Now I'm waiting for people with a strange sense of logic to understand "not this week" as "next week" and getting angry when it's not.

Just posting this to be able to say "Told ya!" next week. ;)

I think I can understand now why posting ETAs is something that people like to avoid in cases like this. :)

The ease and accessibility of quoting old posts makes you constantly feel like you're under oath:

Community: "is it not true that on March 23rd you said so and so about the release date"
BioWare: "Yes, but circumstances have changed since then and" *interrupted*
Community: "GUILTY!" *queue the flamethrowers!*

That's my little rendition of what happens when you give even a rough estimate and fail to be 100% accurate :o

That being said, it would be kind of harsh if it wasn't out by next week. Let's face it, the game is unplayable without heavy restrictions at the moment.

Well, I'm not playing at the moment because I'm waiting for the patch, so I know what you mean.

I pre-ordered the SE, have a nice 100+ hours DA:O / 32+ hours DA:O A playthrough that I imported with all the DLC played, a PC that can handle DA2 on DX11, the DA2 CE Guide and am waiting for a Kirkwall pendant to arrive from BioWareStore.

So yes, I'd really like to continue my DA2 playthrough.

However, what makes waiting somewhat easier to me is that I just convinced myself to see whenever the major patch finally arrives as the true release date. I think I would have accepted it easily if the release would have been postponed until these fixes had been ready in the first place.

This is not what happened, though. But I like to pretend it was this way and live with it.

I do not mind waiting another couple of weeks for the patch, as i am deep into Shogun 2 at the moment. And Crysis 2 is also out so many hours can be wasted by great games until DA2 will suck the rest of my time away. And i have to wait for good drivers to fix the DX11 issues anyways.
But what i really hope is that the patch fixes the import save bugs that i have read about. To me that is one of the more important things to fix.

Just realized lots of great sequals this year :D

Since you mention consoles - is the PC patch delayed until the console patches get certified by MS/Sony? Or is it treated separate?

For some reason I believe that it will take a little while before everything gets patched up. Some of the errors are actually not always present in a play-through (makes it harder to locate and correct whatever variables are messing up in the code).

Take your time, I can play something else in the meantime. I hope it fixes the Nvidia related DirectX 11 performance issues, unless that's up to Nvidia releasing a new driver.

I'm not playing this game till next patch. Waaaaaay 2 many bugs. What will probably happen is that I will find something else and not come back.

It's like working at a Restaurant:

One person's meal may take five minutes to make (PC's:lol:), but the other person's may take 35 minutes to make (consoles:sick:). Unfortunately, dishes only come out together, not one at a time.

If you're impatient, then know what you're ordering! (Yes, I too am waiting to finish my game as I'm stuck with the Isabela quest... But understanding and patience usually pays off.)

If we can't have a patch ETA, could we atleast have an idication of what it will contain?

I'd feel a lot more patient if I knew that the act 2 and 3 companion quest bugs were going to be sorted when it eventually comes out.

This game is so shakey and unreliable its almost rediculous, not once ever during the game and I spent 50+ hours playing was I ever presented the opportunity, or ever met isabella... the fact that my characters gay out...and the fact that your stupid little window pops up at the end saying "Congratulations, you have beat Dragon Age II but alas their are more missions to play go download some $10 DLC to continue onward" and when you download it, it does not let you leave the hawke estate... what in the fsck? Atleast give an explanation of the content before you let tons of people download it and pay you....so misleading and certainly criminal in the eyes of judge. You moderators need to find a different job, your enterprise will be bankrupt via lawsuits soon.. might as well move to Libya or Japan near the reactor now. That go's with the developers too. My impression of your dragon age franchise is now forever tainted. Forward this to your bosses boss.

I'm aware that there are hoops that need jumping to get a patch out to consoles, and I really do feel badly for those that bought a console version and have to wait for those, but I would REALLY hope that you are not intending to force the PC players to wait in line for Microsoft to approve a 360 patch. If it's at all possible to launch a PC-only patch, I would hope that you launch it at the earliest possibility, like at the very least at the same time as you send the console patches out for certification.

It can only improve the experience for the console players, as releasing the PC patch might allow some early testing of issues that could then get caught before the finalized console patch gets sent.

And that's exactly why the whole Circle of Magi thinks doesn't work out, honest companies like Bioware can't use wizards to do most problematic work!

Well, you guys could always try with Blood Magic :P

Bioware should hire a Blood Mage to fix the game bugs. Image IPB

Sure you can't just flip a switch, but there are some pretty big game altering bugs. While yes some can be solved by using a third party tool to edit save files that shouldn't be needed. Nor should there be a 3-4 week wait to fix those bugs. There is a reason why patches are numbered after all since you can release more then one. Not to mention you don't have to release it at the same time fro all platforms. That holds even more truth if some are delayed just to do fix for all platforms at the same time. You fix the major issues then fix the minor ones.
