Since I'm waiting for the patch, too, I have to recharge my iPod touch every day because I keep surfing the forums for any new developments, be it from users or devs.

Bump, does any DEV know why specializations remained locked (level 99 requirement) for some players.
If I were to take a wild guess, I would say you had a modified version of the demo and there is some residual effects from that affecting your main game. The reason I would assume that is because that level 99 requirement thing was never in the main game, only built in to the demo branch.

oh i hope so. microsoft has a painfully long approval time for xbox live. normally getting patches weeks later from the PC simply because of it.Mongoose22 wrote...
Are you planning to release the PC one earlier, like a beta, or will we have to wait for the console approval processes?

In fact, the wailing over in the PS3 and XBox forums about the delay in getting WH v1.1 for them went on for weeks once the PC one was made available while theirs had to wait on the MS and Sony "Certification" processes...

More on topic, I kind of hope this comes out soon - I've beaten the game twice so far, working around the bugs, and I'm really hankering for a new playthrough - a bit more unshackled this time.

I agree that I haven't encountered many bug-like issues either, except this recurring one that I *think* may be related to my graphics sub-system (nVidia GT240/1GB, DX9 on Win7/64-bit/QuadCore/8GB):VFTWV wrote...
Weird, I don't find many bugs in this game and I can play it just fine except a few small bugs like can't give Isabela some talisman but that doesn't make it unplayable.
While in combat, very (very, VERY) frequently, I can't "target" either an enemy, an area for an AoE event, or even a destination for a Party Member. Their portrait will appear to be fine and no "ill-effects" icons or notices are on-screen, but once this occurs, the portrait will then become "hazy" as if it's now not selectable.
At that point, after cycling through my entire Party (while on pause) to find one, ANY one, that I can get to "respond" correctly, I can then go back to the others and assign things for them to do. Very strange and very frustrating when it happens.
Otherwise, I'm actually pleased to find so little "wrong" out-of-the-box. Have heard about "Relationship" bugs and "Losing Skills", but haven't noticed any of these in my game. (Maybe lucky, maybe inattentive...)

when it's done (incredibly tempted to hit submit at this point)
I can tell you for sure that you won't see it this week and that we're working very hard on it. Unfortunately, there are many variables and hoops to go through to get things to the public, especially via consoles, so the process is rather drawn-out. The way some of these posts read, I feel like some users think we just flip a switch or perhaps get a wizard to do it.
Luke, I would just like to thank you for actually posting as much as you do and telling us stuff like. Ya the patch is on the way. Even if it takes time, it feels reassuring to read posts like this, so, thx. Keep up the good work.

Is that the reason the ability to search the forums was removed..?Luke Barrett wrote...
The ease and accessibility of quoting old posts makes you constantly feel like you're under oath:
Community: "is it not true that on March 23rd you said so and so about the release date"
BioWare: "Yes, but circumstances have changed since then and" *interrupted*
Community: "GUILTY!" *queue the flamethrowers!*
That's my little rendition of what happens when you give even a rough estimate and fail to be 100% accurate

DagoMcDuck: Have you updated your video drivers? My husband had that exact problem and fixed it once he got the latest NVIDIA drivers. Having a new machine is no guarantee of having the latest drivers, sadly.
I updated my drivers, yes. Using the provided link on the forum here. It still doesn't work
I can't choose DirectX 10 btw, just 9 or 11.
I actually updated everything: I got my pc today, so had to install everything and update everything anyway.

If I had to guess on their priorities, it would be: Fix major crash, quests, groupmember/player bugs, etc. Then right after that, fix DX 11 issues/performance issues. Then fixing minor and cosmetic bugs.

I'd like some patch soon, since I pre-ordered this game but haven't played it a single second yet, since it crashes right after the EA/Bioware intro-movie with the red dragon flying and spitting fire etc.
And since my PC is brand new...
Brand new is pretty general. What are your system specs? Most people who had gotten nvidia 267.59 driver can play ok.
If it's crashing on the intro movie, then my guess is there's something not set up right in your system. I've seen people complain about this on the forums, but I forget where, but I do know they were able to work around it and get playing

I got round that bug by disabling vsynch. Other crash bugs still plague me though, and the only way for me to avoid them is to play in DX9.DagoMcDuck wrote...

Doesn't make a difference if I disable Vsync or any other setting or try and play in DirectX9... just doesn't work

It has:
- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor
- 8GB RAM
- AMD Radeon HD 6950 series 2 GB
- Windows 7 HP

...rather, I love the quests that can actually be completed. Thanks to the fast beta patch, I was able to get into Kirkwall and actually play most of the game. However, the consistent loading crashes are driving me nuts. I have to reboot my computer 5 or 6 times during a play session, and there are usually another 5-6 times that I'm able to Alt-Ctrl-Delete a loading freeze without rebooting. My DLC Harimann-Sebastian quest is irreparably broken for me, and cannot be completed. The barrel puzzles in Night Terrors (and the excellent reward they offer) cannot be completed, because the barrels move erratically and randomly. And I'm only halfway through the game!
I hope BioWare has a fix for all these issues soon, because DA 2 is a game I will play over and over for years... I really love everything about it so far... except it's the buggiest BioWare game I've ever experienced.
