When can a patch be made for the New Game + mode in Mass Effect 2 for PS3? Nobody on these forums has been able to fully carry over what they were supposed from their previous game. The PlayStation 3 version doesn't allow you to carry over anything, besides bonus resources and credits. Your armor stays the same from your final actions in your previous game, but once you go to your locker to change it, it disappears. The only other occasional problems I have seen are lip syncing and audio-dropouts.
Please, speak up, let your voice be heard, to help bioware notice problems they should fix

Yes they should fix it but I doubt they will one thing they did say that it took awhile to look into this because of having to finish the game first. Then they said that just cause the can look into it doesn't mean it can be fixed in a patch which leads me to believe that they will never fix it now that's what I call lazy.

i know my bit of programming and i find it VERY hard to believe the very creators of this game AND the engine are not capable of fixing it.

Bioware, you have created some great games over the years. Mass effect placing in my personal top 5 games of all time. I do however, have a complaint...Normally, id be very VERY excited for MORE dlc for a game as awesome as mass effect 2..but frankly, im more upset then anything. We, the ps3 community have been suffering tons of glitches. Now, I baught, no preordered mass effect 2 for the ps3 because i already own it for the PC, and I knew it was a game of legendary preportions..however..
You release a DLC while many problems that inhibit a BASIC play through on the ps3 are still rampant. I was one of the lucky ps3 owners that had next to no glitches happen to me..except the New game + glitch..Now, I understand that glitches vary from person to person, but this glitch affects every single ps3 mass effect 2 copy out there..and we still have no word on a fix in the works?
Bioware, you make alot of money im sure, and yeah, with the games that you churn out, you definately deserve it. But for the love of god...FIX THE NEW GAME + GLITCH PLEASE. Its been a consistant problem..and i know that you know it exists..weve been waiting patiently for awhile now...do something about it..please?

I totally agree, this is what I'm talking about: it affects every PS3 copy of the game, so theres not much need in "looking-into-it". They have been able to fix many problems with the Xbox 360 copy of the game, and some still not fixed, but at least they have been answered from Bioware. We want communication, wether its bad or good news.

There have been multiple threads about this topic, and usually they die after the second page, or wander off topic discussion. That isn't cool. Maybe if we kept one thread devoted strictly to the New Game + glitch we'd be able to garner more attention from bioware. Im sure they know the ones that care about their games the most are on this forum. The rest don't bother, but beleive me, even the ones who arnt on the forum find the glitch incredibly annoying.
Edit: All I want is to get what I paid for, and I believe others want that as well.

I took the following quote from Mass Effect 2 wikia
"Starting a New Game+
will carry the character's upgraded Powers over. Weapons, armor and
equipment are also retained, but at basic levels; any associated
upgrades must be earned and/or purchased from scratch. The
Paragon/Renegade morality bars will be completely empty, even if the
character had a previous bonus carrying over from Mass Effect. No bonus
credits or resources will be carried over from importing a Mass Effect
character, though the bonus credits and resources that are given to all
new Mass Effect 2 characters after completing the game will still be
received."
I just started a new game a few hours ago and I noticed that I did
get the bonus credits(around 200k or so), bonus minerals(50k each),
carried over level, class, exp and leveled up powers from my first play through. What I didn't carry over was my paragon/renegade levels, equipment/armor
I purchased from stores through out Citadel/Illum/Omega, etc, the weapon/passive ability upgrades( or what have you) eg., shotgun damage/pistol damage etc.
- Off topic/ didn't want to make new thread -
Other than what I mentioned
above, the game is glitchy as (insert four letter word here). It was
the most glitchiest when using the Hammerhead. The HH would go
into the ground, hit invisible walls, etc. So annoying.
Another thing that was annoying at first but I've gotten use to it and it's somewhat helpful I guess,
is, the detection brackets that let you interact with your surroundings eg., doors, picking up minerals/salvaging equipment etc. The issue with that is that you can be 20 feet away or further from a door and the brackets pop up letting you know there's a door there you can open. The reason it's annoying is because you can be in a battle or just walking around and you see the brackets pop up all the time. Again, even when you're nowhere near an object/item. On the other hand, it's somewhat helpful because then, you can just spin around in the middle of a room and find hidden minerals/hackable wall safes/data pads etc, instead of searching every corner of the room wich would take longer I suppose.
With that said, I wont mind if Bioware doesn't fix these bugs, but Mass Effect 3 better be glitch Free.
So guys, what glitches happened to you guys when you created a NG+? Do t hey differ from what I listed above?

When I started a New Game +, mostly everything BioWare said should carry over for me did: everything besides my weapons from my previous saved game. My amour would stay the same from my previous save, however, it would disappear after I go into my cabinet in the Captains Quarters. Everything you purchase from stores (weapon upgrades/research, fish, ship models or a space hamster) is supposed to not carry over in a New Game +, according to BioWare.
And people, [ xxklownxx ] is right, lets please keep this to topic to show BioWare that this is actually a huge problem, so that they can actually see how much it means to their fans/customers.

Oh, and BioWare, I would greatly appreciate to hear from you on this form. Being a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, communication is greatly valued from one of my favorite games of this generation. Please, just keep in touch with reports on fixing any bugs/glitches.

Bioware is aware of the issues. Jesse Houston said they are reading the forums and are working on fixing the bugs but they can't say what will be fixed yet.

In NG+, we are supposed to carry over all the equipment (armors, helmets, etc.), heavy weapons (not "normal" weapons), and the bonus weapon (the Widow sniper rifle for example). The problem is that there is NOTHING at all.

I can't wait till its fixed either. Im aiming for two more play throughs at least, one on insanity, doing pretty much the same as my first playthrought cept i wanna check out tali...and one just being a renegade badass...but Im waiting for the stupid fix. I mean, like i said earlier, its probably not high on their priority list. I mean, lets face it, in the eyes of bioware they had two choice..
1) Fix the new game plus for us, so we can enjoy the game to its fullest potential
or
2) make a dlc, make more money.
from a buisness perspective, its a no brainer..from a bioware fan's perspective..i was hoping theyd make the right choice...
Edit: Common guys, lets keep this thread up near the top as long as possible, they may be aware of the problem, but they may keep a low emphasis on fixing it unless we really show our Continued dissapointment.

I personally played through the game a second time, perfecting it the way I want for ME3. My first play through had some flaws that I didn't want to be present in ME3. Playing it on hardcore, it wasn't easy, nor extreme, but I didn't see the game to be wonderful. I want to be able to play the game on normal and completely own the enemies with my guns. Eventually get all 3 weapon upgrades (revenant machine gun, krogan shotgun and widow sniper rifle) all on one play through, if possible, but this glitch makes that completely impossible. Trying the game on Insanity is useless as well. Please fix the problem BioWare.

You don't need all that stuff to play through insanity.

It would be more helpful with it. Doesn't matter anyway, theres even a glitch for getting the trophy for the Insanity play through. If you switch the difficulty in your previous game saves before New Game + is activated, the trophy won't be unlocked either. So is there really a point to play through Insanity to know theres nothing in it for you? I think not.
#22
Posté 30 mars 2011 - 09:31
I changed the difficulty to insanity in the main menu and then I started a new game and picked insanity difficulty again. Got the trophy. Don't get me wrong though, I totally agree that this stuff needs to be fixed. It pisses me off that I can't level up my Shepard past level 30.

Agreed. Thats nice to know that about the Insanity Trophy. Hopefully though in Mass Effect 3 they will allow your Shepard to go up to level 60 like in the original.

Posté 30 mars 2011 - 10:26
It is possible to go above level 30 in ME2 but you need to import your character. I'm not doing that because of the NG+ glitch. Also if your going for insanity then remember that once you start playing, don't load any other character.

Posté 30 mars 2011 - 11:04
I was hoping to play the new dlc on my NG+ Insanity run, but that's obviously pointless because there's no patch. I've posted my problems with the NG+ twice in the other glitch thread. NG+ is essentially unplayable now, at least for me. I would just like an answer from Bioware to at least tell us if they are planning to fix it or not, this is very annoying.
