Would she be happier in the Circle or with the Grey Wardens?

Any thoughts?

She seems doing all right in the Circle.

Even if she would be happier as a Warden, that's a death sentence.

I've made her both a Grey Warden and Circle and she seems happier in the Circle. All she really wants is a normal life and as Grey Warden her life is anything but normal, though she eventually accepts being a Grey Warden she still seems sad.

From what I gather she came to be content in the Circle, I believe another character says something like "maybe Bethany is right the circle isn't so bad".

The Circle is better for her. It's not the normal life she wants, but it's way more normal than being a grey warden.

The Circle is the better option. That said, the letter you get from her basically felt like one massive "It really really sucks here, but I won't tell you, because I don't want you to do anything stupid".

She likes the circle better, but i think the grey wardens will make a better use of her talents, therefore i tend to make her a grey warden. I think the wardens deserve a mage after how anders left them in the cold.

The Circle. She is happier when you meet up with her at the end, and in her codex entry it says that she sometimes wanted to join the Circle.

The circle corresponds more to its aspirations. Stay in Kirkwall, be with people like her.

But that does not mean that her life will be better in a circle in a future time. I prefer to see her as warden personally. Far from hatred and extremism.

I don't want her to be involved in this war mage / Templars.

My Hawke in DA3 will not engage in any camps.

Heh :)

Assuming Hawke is actually the PC in any future series installments, I'll bet real money that you won't have any more choice in the matter than you did in the previous two games.  In situations like what is happening right now (a war, in other words) neutrality is never an option.  At least not for main characters.

Me, Carver and Merill all hired on a certain Rivaini pirate ship, good luck to the templars trying to find me on the ocean :P

Say, you can actually sail off with Isabela, right?  Or is that only if you're in a romance with her.  Because that makes all kinds of sense, really.

"I just defied the Templars in the center of the power in Eastern Thedas.  It is time to GTFO and take the people I love most with me!"

"HEY ISABELA!  You know that ship?  The one I didn't kill a miserable slaving scum so that you could blackmail him out of it?  Yes, that one.  How fast can it set sail?"

Seeing that theres a war that's starting and any noromal mage is put in a place where they have to either run, fight or die doesn't seem like a great life. Being a Warden she's immune from the war every country in Thedas sees Grey Wardens as neutral and no Templar is going to risk the Warden's vengance by killing one.

Pretty much - Yes. She offers it to you if she gets the ship no matter if you romance her or not - and why shouldn't she, she fought at the gallows too, she's as guilty as me :P

She is happy in the circle, Unlike carver whom is happy as a warden Bethany hates being a warden.

She seems happy in the Circle.

Which surprised me, on several levels. But there it is.

She may be happier in the Circle, but I think the Wardens are overall better for her.

Seriously, you think the Wardens are a death sentence, the Kirkwall circle is basically full of dead men (or women) walking.

A 30 year sentence isn't great, she'll die when she's 48. But it isn't terrible either, medieval life expectancies being what they were especially as a mage in the current era.

No more running FROM danger, only towards. Again, assuming you DIDN'T know that you had a choice between Circle and Wardens and just happened to bring her and Anders along...

Wardens>>>>>Death from the blight.

Plus, you never know, maybe they'll recognize sparing Avernus in a meaningful way and indicate that his research has been imparted to the Wardens in general and increased their life expectency.

I wanted to see Hawke's love interest, Isabela, get kidnapped by Grace and her gang, so I brought Carver to the Deep Roads to die (meta-gaming wise, of course). But the death scene is quite sad even though I don't much like Carver. Since I had Bethany join the Circle in my previous game and being caught in a war between the mages and the Templars does not do much for her life expectancy, I'm gonna make her a Grey Warden in my next game. She may or may not be happier, but she'll live longer than as a casualty of the war.
