She'd be happiest leashed in Par vollen as all beasts should be obviously.

If mindless beasts are shackled in Par Vollen, how come all the qunari in the compound walk around unshackled?

Because they are superior in mind, body and soul. I shouldn't really need to point the obvious out.

make sure you take anders and her to the deep roads

Hmph, that sucks.  How many people are going to take two mages on that excursion?  This play through is going to be even more of a downer for me than my 1st in which at least Carver ended up as a templar.  All my familyis going to bite the dust in this one.  :crying:

On the last two playthroughs, I brought *three* mages to pretty much all my missions - what's wrong with that? :o

Nothing as a rule but I'd say you are the exception to the rule rather than the rule.    I had a two mage party on my 1st play through and wanted more offensive punch this time around.  Thus two fighters, a thief and one mage.  I was determined to take Bethany with me as long as possible thus she was my mage.

Some random source I just browsed claimed that in the middle ages (roughly the same time as when DA takes place, difference being in magic), royalty lived the longest and even in their case the age of 50 was about the max. Commoners as a rule died before the age of 45.

First of all, DA'verse does not take place as the same time as the middle ages. DA'verse is realm with healing mage and *BZZZZ*

That was the sound of the buzzer going "oopsy!". I just stated that the difference was in magic, in that very same message of mine you quoted. To elaborate, I never claimed the two worlds were the same. It was simply to point out to those less versed in history, that the life expectancy of a human being without modern science is not at all that long. I think it's very well founded to expect that 50 years even in Thedas is considered a ripe full age for most people. After all, it's not our world, but clearly the human physiology, aging and life expectancy is about exactly the same.

Just because a world is set in fantasy, doesn't mean you get to throw all the rules of reality out of the window. There is what I like to call a "world-specific realism", and in the case of Thedas, humans age, get sick, and die just like we do over here.

How is it not a death sentence? Anything limiting someone's lifespan is a death sentence, whether it's thirty minutes or thirty years.

I can't argue with extremist on/off comments. Personally I see a huge difference between having 30 years or 30 minutes to live, but if you don't, then there's not a whole lot I can say about that.

Bethany came back in my first playthrough even as a warden to help Hawke fight. Carver definitely goes to the Grey Wardens. He's such a prig with the templars and I can't stand him. I want him as far away from me as possible. The GWs are the place to send him.

Circle, i wouldn't like to be stuck in that prison, rather be a warden and don't die old, die like a warrior instead of in that place.

Except that's not what happens to her in the Circle. The Circle collapses, and she says she never realized how free she was when she was running until she joined the Circle, and now she has purpose in helping free mages from other Circles.

Grey Warden isn't bad, but Circle is significantly better for Bethanny in the grand scheme. She wanted to see what it was like, she got to, and now she's free again and fighting for what she believes in.

i agree, and i hope she will be a companion in da3 if play hawke again. just see how decision we made plays out. either gray wardens or circle. i choose the circle everytime now. the one time i choose the gray wardens for her, even at the end i felt she still hated my guts

I placed her in the Wardens, far better for her, sure it will kill her at some point, but then again the momment we are born we start to die. So at least as a warden you can see when your time is coming.

Well in both my play-throughs, I didn't think it made sense to bring both siblings down into the Deep Roads.

Bethany even says that she wonders sometimes if the Circle would really be that bad, so I think she'd be happier in the Circle.

Guess the superiority of the twohundred or so I slaughtered in a single hour, just didn't come to shine?

Though not worded that way, that is exactly what a Qunari would think.  A small group of non Qunari just kicked the ass of half our force?   "Unpossible!"

Well, two hundred on the way to light their sad excuse of a war-leader on fire. Throughout the whole course of the game, likely a lot more.

What annoys me is that the only way to ge the gray warden route is to take Anders and your sibling with you, and with Varric being locked for that part, that leaves you 0 choice in your party's composition. In particular if you're playing a rogue yourself, that means you can't have a warrior...

I think they should have just let us look for the grey wardens without Anders, but at a different cost (like having to give up a part of your treasures just to make it in time or something)

I'll just point out that true Qunari never refuse to accept defeat.
Kick Sten's ass and he will respect you, kick the Arishok's forces around and be honest about it and he does likewise.

Live studio recording of tulls stand up circa '69, I miss Ians old voice. Oh and the Qun recited in its entirety by Richard Burton if you've got it.

While I disagree with the assessment of what specimen we're dealing with, I agree with the conclusion. We can still examine the remains, *after* cremation.

That is totally untrue but then again easter is named after an old anglo saxon goddess of fertility so what can you do.

As an aside I recommend you don't go with burning it's way too messy, get a good carving knife and chop away at the joints dividing it all up then feed the parts to the pigs erroll but for christ sakes remember to pull the teeth as we don't want to hurt porkies digestion, but bones they'll go through like butter.

Now put the bloody kettle on as i'm gasping.

They can still play as good as they used to but Ian's voice is really terrible right now.  They haven't lost a thing musically wise though.

I kicked his 4 elite guard test he put up against me all around and he was still as snotty and haughty as before.  Somewhere along the road the Quanri are either bald face liars or incredibly stupid.  A little of both I think.
