To me it seems like all four of the love interests are attracted to Hawke whether you flirt with them or not. All that seems to matter is whether or not your friendship/rivalry is high enough. It seems more realistic that way; they aren't going to suddenly be attracted to Hawke just because he flirted with them, it'll only determine whether they act on it.

On a side note...I saw someone saying they shipped Bethany/Nathanial. Personally, I think Beth/Keran would have been neat. I don't know. I like companions having lives outside Hawke. Aveline's romance quest was so good. Almost made up for her not being a love interest.....we need more of that sort of stuff.
