Who's pretending? At what point did I call it a perfect masterpiece? At what point did I say that I love it? The game is nowhere near as good as Dragon Age Origins was, I know that, there's no need for me to "wake up". But it's still a pretty good game in it's own right, and it definitely doesn't deserve the level of hate that it recieved in this review. It deserves some hate, mainly for the map recycling in my opinion. But a 2.5 out of 10 review..? (and it did read as a 2.5 out of 10 review, so don't tell me read it again). I don't think so.

Regardless the guy skipped over saying anything positive. It is not up to reviewers to bash games, it is up to reviewers to make an unbiased decision by weighing pros and cons then supporting a conclusion.

Sure his cons have some teeth, but the guy doesn't say a single good thing about the game or support his score. IT IS A BAD REVIEW, it reads like a fanboy bashing a series he hates.He may have legit arguments, but he doesn't address ANY of the positives of the game.

I don't trust IGN because they hand out good scorse to just about everything. And I don't trust Gamespot because if an advertiser wants they can buy a reveiw(or get the reveiw fired).

the critic that did this review was down right zelot and on top of that he was baseing his review of gameplay on xbox for pc and PS3  my verric new moonwalked    my mobs never spawned form thin air they  ran in if you wanted to do   review he should have played on all platforms   if any thing  PC is smooth and i never hade any of the bugs this review  is pissin and maoning about that is all i am saying

I'm playing on the PC and ran into all sorta of bugs, and if you haver had mobs pop out of nowhere then you are not playing this game.

It's hardly idiotic or brainless. Nearly every topic he hit on was accurate.. Granted DA2 didn't deserve a 2.5, but he makes a  ton of sense in his review, and his outlook is very understandable. Did you even read the whole thing?

It is. DA2 even you admited did not deserve a score that low regardless of his reasons. only a fool would think that score is valid regardless of his claims.

Praising psychos and wanting to marry them is far outside the realms of what society and humanity considers normal or commonplace.

Might want to open the window mate, the fanboy cloud is cutting off the oxygen to your already struggling brain.

lol. you do realize in a game review the number is everything. the review hits on the good and bad but OVERALL he has to score everything in a nutshell as a whole experience and out of 10 he said 2.5.. thus his review is garbage and anyone who's played DA2 knows this game is not a 2.5.

I wanted Bioware to make iso-view masterpiece just like in the late 90's, I admit it. I wanted the game to cater to me, me, ME! I admit that too. DAO didn't set the world on fire, but at least they made an effort to wave the "we love rpgs!" flag. I played DAO and didnt post a thing about it, just enjoyed it. On this one I'm taking a side. DA2 excels at nothing and is just a bad game. I'm not mad, I'm just a little sad that bioware chose to try so hard for a piece of the mainstream pie rather than continuing to champion something different.

People can like it all they want As for me I hope sales struggle and the developer I have loved gets the message. They wont get it from me, I already bought it.

A good website or magazine will publish its criteria. Less than 5 is generally pretty scathing. I'd say, from reading lots of reviews that "professional" review scores go lower than 5 less than 25% of the time. (But that's based on what I read. How would you tell?)

5/10 to me is average... when did 4/10 become scathing?

I am sorry but there is plenty of crap on the market that deserved much lower than the critics gave it.

When complete crap is receiving 5s, average games are receiving 7s and above average games are receiving 8s and 9s the scale has been shot to hell.

As I said.. I don't think DA2 deserved a 2.5 but it does balance out the rest of the industry reviews, many of which are artifically inflated.

That's the point of a number score, so people who do not wish to read an entire review can look at the score and make a decision. It's a summary. So for those saying the number is unrepresentative to the review, I'd have to disagree. It's very unprofessional to give a game a very low rating, just to get a point across. That is not what a score, or a written review, is suppose to be about.

I think the point of the score was to ensure the review was read.

Perhaps it was unprofessional, but it certainlay was effective.

That's not the point of a number score. The fact the author used a number score just to bring more traffic and get attention to his review, makes me not take his entire review seriously and makes him look bad, in my opinion.

Wake up. It is not.

There has never been a game that is.   Every game has bugs.  Every game has things that can be done better. Every game cuts corners for budgetary reasons.  This game clearly cut some corners too fine and it shows.  But it is difficult to accept that the game has no redeeming qualities at all.  Maybe the reviewer is supposed to be a Fox News talking head and not an objective reviewer.   I don't write his checks.  But the review he posted is useless for anyone who wants to get a balanced view of the good and bad about the game, because it has both in spades.

Anyone can blog whatever screed they want.  More power to them.  But if you want to do so with any credibility, you have to avoid blatantly biased and unprofessional behavior.  An entirely negative review with an absurdly low rating is quite far from that.
