I can't play more than a couple minutes before the game crashes. I have Win7 and a 5870 Radeon card with 11.2 drivers. I also have the high-res pack installed.

I didn't have this problem before the patch... I just got Act II and now I can't play the game at all. I've tried to change the video settings but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Is this a known issue or something?

Update: I uninstalled and re-installed the game without patch, but having same problem, so it might not be the patch. The only other recent change was that I installed Internet Explorer 9 and some windows updates. I don't see how IE9 would kill Dragon Age... but I have seen weirder things happen Posted Image

Uninstall and reinstall w/o the patch. At least you can pickup the game and play it, just make sure you move your "SAVE" files or you will lose them when you uninstall the game!

Not sure if I am having the same exact issue but starting today my game crashes while trying to load my save or start a new game. I get error "R6025 - pure virtual function call".

I have uninstalled the game and re-installed it 2 times both with and without the patch and is still crashes.

I didn't have this problem until today. Last night I got a few windows updates. I will try to go back to the save point before the updates and see if that helps.

I just uninstalled and re-installed the graphics drivers, audio drivers, and also the game. Now it is crashing without the 1.01 patch installed.

I'm no longer able to even load a game now... it crashes in the menu

Mine doesn't give me any error message, just the "check online for a solution" message. I also just started having this problem yesterday.

About 95% certain it's a graphics card issue (hardware). It's common, over time, for a graphic card's TIM to wear out, as most manufactures don't put much on in the first place...

I had the same issue with my current graphics card - all I did was scale down the clock speeds as a test to see if it fixed the issue. It, infact, did. (Lowers the operating temperature) So, I removed the card, replaced the TIM, and put the card back and haven't had an issue sense.

In the many machines I've built over the years, this is one of the most common I've dealt with. Especially more recently.

The 'crash' is a graphics card's version of a 'BSOD' or 'Blue screen of death'.

Also - for better help - load the game and get the crash to happen. Immediately after, go to the start menu, type 'event viewer' and hit enter. In that window, on the left side, click 'Windows Logs' and expand that. Then select 'system' and see what the error message says then post it.
