Being an apostate doesnt really mean you can't be Andrastrian, just look at anders. they see the issue in the man-made chantry, not the deity themself. Furthermore, for those of you who complain about the lack of consistancy about being an open apostate in a city full o templars, openly following the Qun, Creators, or Old Gods would be the very excuse Meredith would need to lock you up in the Gallows. or kill you. depending on her disposition that day.

Who says anything about openly? I'd rather Hawke's battle cries don't contain ANY religious connotations at all.

OK, I'll just think that Hawke pretends to be a devout Andrastian then. Thanks for your inspiration. ;-)

tis what i am here for Image IPB

That means she's REALLY good at being sarcastic but making it convincing.

Perhaps Dragon Andraste would be more fitting?

I don't want to hear that religious stuff either. That said, it should be possible to make a mod to remove the annoying religious stuff. B)

if you want to stick to lore, but thats just too boring lol.
Nah, he's probably a bit like anders, but less invloved. believes in it and all, thinks the Chantry just has a power hard-on, but otherwise just doesn't think about it too much

Speaking of jarring battlecries...did anyone else want to give Anders fireball just so his "suck on a fireball" bark makes sense?

Yes. And I've always wondered what his "NEVER SOMETHINGSOMETHING ME" cry was all about.

My Hawke is a dedicated Pastafarian a follower of the flying Spaghetti monster. He has been touched by the noodly appendage. Ramen..

Hmmm...I'm kind of intrigued by the fact that you use the same type of response most, or even all, of the time. I think I have generally given pretty mixed responses, letting the situation dictate whether my Hawke is nice or mean or snarky. I might have to try leaning more heavily in one direction to see if/how it changes the tone of the game.

Incidentally, my most recent Hawke incarnation was converted to Pastafarianism by Isabella.

Yeah I noticed that too. But you can simply give him a Fire staff, so that it does shoot fireballs, albeit small ones. I play on Nightmare so I don't use Fireballs much.

Plus, "Suck on the Fireball!" is  an awesome battle cry. Ranked second after Varric's "One more for the Dwarf! How many have you got, Hawke?"

Actually, being to an extend religious (as opposed to being a complete fanatic who takes the chant of light for face value) makes perfect sense for nice Hawke, even as an apostate :o

Well, I give mostly nice responses. Of course there are mean and sarcastic ones here and there, but I'm RPing a Mage Hawke who believes that she can use her Magic to save the world (after the Rogue who's shrewd social climber with a predilection for being paid).

Because Pirates are loved most of all by the Flying Spaghetti monster so of course Isabella must be a Pastafarian. She stole the Quaniri book because it is blasphemy against his noodliness.

My Hawke is a kind hearted Mage that uses snarky dialouge to avoid giving away too much information, a trait picked up while avoiding templars in his childhood

It definitely makes sense, but being atheist/agnostic/freethinker makes no less sense IMO. Basically, I just need a choice. Perhaps I'm nitpicking, but hey we are BioWare fans - we are never satsified by usual standards of excellence.

It makes to an extend less sense, as there's considerably more andrastians then atheists in thedas, and those wo turn atheist in such a strongly religious world are more likely to associate themselves with the snarky / angry options.
But then, if we were ever satisfied, how would they learn? :P

Just because Hawke mentions Andraste doesn't mean he/she is a devout follower of the religion, its like how there are plenty of Christian phrases that many people pick up.

Also grow up guys, other people follow religions learn some respect, this isn't 4chan.

Raptor Jesus? That is blasphemy against his noodiliness. If you keep this up you'll be sent to hell where the beer is stale and the strippers have STD's. Repent, and you will have access to the beer volcano and stripper factory. Where the beer is fresh and the strippers don't have STD'S. Ramen.

Whatever do you people do with regards to D&D, where atheists are literally and provably sent to be damned for eternity for not worshipping any of it's two-bit jerk deities. :wizard:
