I'm trying to find the best end game (Act 3) weapon of each type.  Here is what I've found so far:

2-Handed: Sundering - 38 Electricity Damage (62 DPS), +6% crit chance, +16% crit damage, +10% physical damage, +5 mana/stamina regen

1-Handed: The Bringer of Silence - 28 Physical Damage (53 DPS), 1 rune slot, +5% crit chance, +12% crit damage, 5% chance to dispell hostile magic

Sheild: Lord Bearing's Wall - 208 Armor, 1 rune slot, +94 attack, +47 defense, +10 fortitude

Dagger: The Low Blade - 44 Nature Damage (81 DPS), 2 rune slots, +10% crit damage, +3% attack speed, 25% chance to reduce attack speed & movement speed

Bow: Sliver - 102 Physical Damage (96 DPS), 1 rune slot, +6% crit chance, +5% attack speed, +10 nature damage across 2m

Staff: Torch of Falon'Din - 42 Fire Damage (57 DPS), 2 rune slots, +16% fire damage, +8 fire damage

I really think there has to be better 1 and 2-handed weapons that I've not found. I've also heard about a bow that starts with an "A" that is better but I haven't found it yet.  Also I'm sure the shield could be better too.  Please post anything that you feel is better.

There are several bows with higher base damage. Absolution and Jackal's Longbow are 2 of them.

Low Blade is one of the best daggers but Carta's Left Hand provides immunity to knockback.

Bloom has base 38 cold damage (2H weapon). Celebrant is 38 spirit damage (2H) IIRC.

the Final Thought is one of the best staves and Cold Blooded and the Staff from Xerkenberk are the best blood mage staves.

The Low Blade is definitely the best dagger, considering how rare Nature damage resistance is.

There was some 1-handed weapon that had 62 DPS and a 2.5% chance to Enslave, but I don't recall its name.

Okay the information I'm gonna post here comes from the official strategy guide by Piggyback!
Keep in Mind this is all VERY VERY subjective to what you like n would use!

1-hand weapon - There are 4 weapons that require atleast 41 strength to equip.
Aurvar's prize - 41 strength req. 1 rune slot, +116 atk, +3 armor, +17% threat generation. 33 phy dmg.- chest in deep roads furing the finding nathaniel quest.
The Vague Blade - 41 str. req., 3 rune slots, Enemies cannot dodge atks. 33 phy. dmg. - chest during the last holdouts quest
Glandivalus - 41 str. req, 1 rune slot, +116 atk, +3 armor, 2.5% chance to enslave normal enemies, does 33 elec. damage - drops from the Hybris Demon.
Blade of the thousand battles - 35 phy dmg., 2 rune slots, + 5% crit chance, +8% phy dmg, 5% chance to knockback. - bought from the black emporium dlc

Best Shield- 2 with a 30 str n con requirement.
Shield of the Resolute - 31 str./31 con req. 2 rune slots, +25 armor, +8% magic resistance. - found in a pile of bones in templar hall durig the last straw quest.
Mage's Friend - 32 str., 32 con. required , 3 rune slots, +17% magic resistance- found during the faith quest for the exiled prince DLC.

The bow is Absolution, which can be purchased from the Nexus Golem for 38g34s in Act III.

It requires 41 Dex, does 134 damage, with +6% critical chance, +16% critical damage and +27 Nature damage. Since Nature resistance is so rare, it's extremely effective.

To add to daggers for the combination with the low blade is
Finesse - requires 41 dex, does 42 phy dmg, 1 rune slot, +4% crit chance, +10% crit dmg, +8 nature dmg. You get it as a quest reward for completing a Murder of Crows...from Zevran.

The Bringer of Silence and the Amell Family Shield go great with the Champion Warrior Armor.

If you're playing templar then vague blade is obscene for tank. And tbh staves are variable since you'll be swapping due to bonuses for elemental wepaons. For dagger though I'm loving finesse & carta's left hand

Actually the best staff in game is found in act 2, on the wounded coast from a trader back where the Arishok were.

Cannot remember name, but stats were like:
37 Cold Damage
+6 Magic
+30% cold damage
1 Point More Health Per Mana for Blood magic

And one more stat. I will check the staff when I get home.

Edit: I remember it being around 109 sovreign.

Edit2: Found on wiki: http://dragonage.wik...ki/Cold-Blooded

Actually sold for 113 sovreign.

Cold-Blooded
37 cold damage (50 per second)

+6 magic
+40 mana/stamina
+10 mana/stamina regeneration rate
+30% cold damage
Blood Magic: Each point of health provides 1 additional mana

That's not strictly the best in the game, though, since it has lower base damage than Final Thought AND the other end-game Blood Magic staff. If you use Winter's Grasp/Cone of Cold liberally, it may be better, but I can never bring myself to waste points in the Elemental tree.

Doesn't the Varterral have either a high resistance or immunity to nature damage that makes the low blade and absolution useless against it?
