I'll probably still pre-order DA3 with no reservations. Until Bioware pulls a Final Fantasy FFXIII and XIV (suspect to some of you I know), I'll get on board. DA2 isn't a bad game. There are just things they did in execution that don't sit well with me. It has nothing to do with the camera or combat, I actually love the changes to combat outside of everyone just spontaneously blowing up into limbs and things. They actually made playing a mage fun because I hated being one in DA:O.

I have pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 mainly because I want to see the end of my character's game and then be done with the Mass Effect franchise. Also because Amazon.com is giving out a $10 pre-order credit for it.

However, I owe Bioware a lot. I really do. If it hadn't been for them and NWN I would have never gone into the hardware portion of IT (I'm software and tech support). I would have never taken apart my old computer to put in a graphics card to play it. A seventeen year old girl with a screwdriver is deadly!

I'll pre-order the game, even if it turns out to be a carbon copy of DAII instead of a throwback to DA: Origins. Why? Because I need closure, no matter how bad the end.

I don't regret pre-ordering the game at all, even if certain aspects disappointed me slightly. I didn't pay a high price for it, and I still enjoyed playing it in spite of the more flawed aspects such as the over-used areas and more constricted interaction with party members. I found the voiced protagonist fine and I was never a fan of DA:O's combat so I didn't miss its loss. I would have liked a longer game but it wasn't so short that I felt ripped off by any means.

I never decide years in advance whether I'll preorder any game. Why would I when no details have yet been released? If and when DA3 gets a release date, I'll decide whether to preorder then.

There are things about both games that I liked/disliked. I've always played games for the stories they tell, though, so I know I'll buy DA3...I just don't know if I would pre-order it. I would want more info first, I think, like incentives, story progression details, what (if any) characters will be returning.

Difficult question, i will pre-order ME3, but would i pre-order DA3? Probably not, i would wait for player feedback first and then decide if the full price seems justified.

I'd pre-order it, just not from Best Buy.

I would as a true loyal fan to Dragon Age.
Anyone who wouldn't is a true fan.
I preordered both DAO and DA2.

Just how it it. True fans will support, buy, and preorder DA.
There will always be haters, but the true fans will still be around.
I am one of them. That's why you guys won the contest!
There are far more fans than there are haters. <3

You're the exact person BioWare relies on, cuz they know whatever **** game they release, people like you will eat it up just because you're "loyal fans." Then BioWare wont feel obligated to improve their games. Nice going.

It really depends. I'll have to see what direction DA3 is planning on going. I would prefer a returning to many of the elements in Origins (not *all*, but many). If DA3 is going to be headed further down the path DA2 is on, then I won't be spending the money on the game at all, much less preorder it.

I've read several people say this isn't a sequel to DA:O... and well no its not a direct continuation of the Warden story, But Its not supposed to be. The Dragon Age Series isn't about the warden.... its about the Dragon Age. And the events taking place during this time. A time that was predicted to be a period of great change. If it was a direct sequel it would have been named Dragon Age: Origins II.

why people are upset by this when even early on... It was said that it wasn't about the Warden or a continuation of the events from Origins. More of spin off... another tale.

I loved the game for what it was.. a story about Hawke, and how over a period of time he/she goes from being a refugee to a champion. Thats the story. It was a good story too. Kind of like watching the first season of a good fantasy show with a conclusion of the season's story arc... but with a much bigger story let to be told.

I'll be preordering DA3.... because I want to experience another epic tale that takes place during The Dragon Age.

After spending about 60 hours on my DAII mage on hard difficulty and 10 hours each so far on the warrior and rogue on nightmare difficulty, I'm finding it a great value for my gaming dollars. I'm definitely preordering DAIII.

After playing Dragon Age 2, you bet i'll preorder Dragon Age 3.

Bioware learns from their mistakes and listens to the community, that's why i'm a fanboy of theirs. I personally thought DA2 was a solid 8.5

I'm not even pre-ordering ME3 after that, sadly.

Probably. Really depends on price and whether there's incentive to pre-order of course.
But... SWTOR is coming. I'll be playing it for years possibly. I wonder if i will have time for DA3... Especially considering Skyrim and ME3 will also take a lot of time. And after TOR and ME3, i might be so fed up with BW games i'll be keeping a long break. Yes, one can get fed up with one developer (damned Bungie and their Reach... *sigh* *goes to play Reach for Challenges and credits*)
EDIT for the record, like DA2 better than DAO. Stupid combat was so damn boring and slow in DAO.

Nope.

I preordered ME2, got burned, got Mass Effect: Gears of War Edition instead of a sequel to Mass Effect.

Played DA2's demo, was in awe of how bad it was.

Now I'll just read the boards when Bioware releases a game before buying. I'm not throwing away money if Bioware's going to keep making Shooters and horrible games like DA2.

I'll be much more wary next time around. If it sounds like another DA2 then no, likely not. If, however, there's a realignment back to some of the aspects that made DA:O much more enjoyable for me then, sure. Bioware's still a great developer. If they decide to make a game more aligned to my tastes again then I've no doubt they'll do a great job of it.

Given the interview comments by Mike Laidlaw, though, I'm not overly optimistic right now.

I'd preorder it... if only for the shiny equipment that makes the game's excuse for equipment... wait. Sorry. I was thinking of the DA:O DLC equipment... The DA2 DLC equipment was quickly outclassed by things like Ring and Belt... :?
I'd still preorder it. Shinies are shiny.

Yes especially if they make another special edition with a bunch of free crap then i will and soon as i get it i will sell it for 3 times what i paid on amazon just like DA2. And I'll wait for the price to drop and buy it used cause I'm cheap like that.

Actually Dragon Age 2 became a factor for me NOT purchasing "The Arrival" DLC for ME2. And from what I've heard about it, that was the right decision to make.

As for DA3....sadly, no. My days of leaping without looking with Bioware are over.

I'm 50/50 on pre-ordering DA3. I wasn't totally let down by DA2 but I wasn't very impressed either. I will wait and see this time, that is if DA3 is just a copy of DA2 or if they go back to their roots, DAO -> DAO2 or DA3. I too buy via Steam.
