i love dragon age and i like bioware as a company. While DA2 was.... different.... from my expectations i'm going to wait until i see the DLCs and expansions to see how the overall game fits together. I'm willing to give bioware a second chance, if i was mercilessly unforgiving i'd have no friends.

That said, I won't preorder until i'm confident the DLCs and additional content show the Dragon age universe is going in a positive direction.

The ME2 DLCs only increased my love of the mass effect universe, i hope the DA2 DLCs do the same.

Only if it is EXACTLY like DA:O. I mean, I want everything from a mute protagonist right down to slaying an archdemon with Morrigan, Alistair, Sten, Leliana, Zevran, my dog, and Wynne. And ONLY if it's PC exclusive. If there's any hint of it touching the console, all bets are off.

I simply don't play stupid RPGs like DA:2. I'm a genius and only games with the complexity and depth of DA:O can satisfy my superior intellect.

Nope, neither would I preorder DA3 nor buy it on the 1. day. I've made this mistake once, ignored my inner voice and preordered the DA2 Signature Edition. After playing the game I was totally appalled. This will never happen again. To avoid this kind of dissapointment I have to wait and see the next time.

Absolutely not. Absolute ****, not because of the game itself, but because of Bioware's treatment of customers and it's lesser quality in comparison to the original.

It is not a good sign for the future.

Sure. The stories/lore are still good and it is the main reason I buy their games. Sure as hell don't buy these kinda RPG's for its gameplay(combat/loot system and ect).

Lesser quality in comparison to the original? Have you played the same game I have. DA 2 has better EVERYTHING. Better graphics, less boring combat, better facial animations... Your obviously confusing nestalgia with reality.

Yes, i would. DA2 is not really quite as bad as it seems.

I am not a fanboy (although i had bought and just about played all of Bioware's games in the past decade and more) and i believe in the benefit of doubt.

There is a saliant point which was raised in another thread about the possibility of an (proper) expansion for DA2 to wrap up the story line along with DLCs to complement it. If that happens and i think it might, then it would free up DA3 to be a continuation of our Grey Warden's story and his God Child. Of course, instead of our DA: O character returning, we may just be playing our God Child instead.

DA 2 has little to nothing to do with Origins. If DA 3 is be a sequal of DA 2, we will be playing as Hawke again.

It depends on which story they were using and what elements from the second they were going to keep in the 3rd one

Depends on:
1) Pre Order Hype.
2) A TS.
3) Early and more Screen-es, Game/Play "Shots". Do not let forum posters argue for you:"They are from an earlier build." If you can.
4) No Bonus Fiasco of Pre Order DLC. Don't tell your customers to fight for his Entitlements.
5) What sort of DRM it will be! SecureRom debacle!

Can't think of anymore points at this time. When I see those issues as been addressed, I would consider a Pre Order.

I know i should say no, but I also know that I am an rpg-****. Utterly so. So yes, I will pre-order DA3.

Nope... DA 2 was the only game I have pre-ordered during the last couple of years, and it didn't turn out too well. If DA 3 doesn't stop the whole "Awesome, flashy, mainstream!"- theme, I am probably done with the franchise. Which is extremely sad, as Origins was such an epic.

Everyone stop with the sarcasm posts; it doesn't translate well on the internet, and I can't tell who is on what side anymore.

It depends on the pre-release reviews

The demo

And how long it took to make

I might pre order it, but it depends of many things and contents. As of now I will certainly buy it because I want to see the continuation of the story but I will need to see and know more about it to actually pre order it.

Yes. Frankly, I pre-order loads of games, even if they're titles I'm not ridiculously excited about - because it doesn't cost anything to do so, it's perfectly possible to cancel if I change my mind, and I get reward points which means money off at some point down the line. If I'm intending to buy a game at all, I usually pre-order.

In a heartbeat.

There are things I do not like about DA2, particularly the 'streamlined' (dumbed down) mechanics.  But the writing, cinematics and voice-acting were absolutely top-notch.  Bioware did a damned good job of storytelling with this game, and I'll buy the next chapter as soon as there's someplace to send the money.

Varric better be back.
